I don't know what religion you practice but you are obviously not a Christian. No Christian would slander martyrs to the faith!

I don't think he was slandering martyrs to the faith. He was mocking the kind of "christian" who would be embarrassed by any kind of evangelization to muslims, as referred to in the introduction to the article.

For my part, I understand Christians living in muslim countries who are hesitant to witness to muslims, knowing full well what the consequences might be. I've never had to face murder as a consequence of my faith, and I can only pray that should that day come I'll not do anything to embarrass myself before God. I admire the kind of people who dare to do it anyway. And I have to say I admire this pope.

I know of one priest in Lebanon who baptized 65 Muslims last year alone. Like many Maronite Catholic priests, he has a deep faith and would willingly lay down his life for Christ.
