Ex-congressman disputes Clinton boasts on medical leave legislation
The Hill ^ | 03/27/08 | Sam Youngman

The former congressman who shepherded the Family and Medical Leave Act through Congress sought Thursday to debunk Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) claim to the legislation, saying she “never had anything to do with it.”

Former Rep. William Lacy Clay, Sr. (D-Mo.) is circulating an email disputing Clinton’s claim that the law is one of her more meaningful domestic accomplishments. The presidential candidate says she helped lobby for the bill’s passage and signing in 1993.

But Clay, who was joined by Senate sponsor Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.), said the bill had already passed by large margins when it passed in 1990 and 1992 before it was vetoed on both occasions by former President George H.W. Bush.

“All we needed was a president to sign it,” Clay said. “The president signed it, and we’re grateful for that but there was no lobbying by him or her.”

The Hill has obtained a copy of the Clay email rejecting Clinton’s claims to have been instrumental in bill’s becoming law. The former congressman writes, “If Hillary played a role in its passage, it was without my knowledge.”

I agree. I never heard anything about her involvement with FMLA.

If you really want to get into history, as a senator she DID force changes on flu vaccine negotiations with manufacturers. This led DIRECTLY to the flu vaccine shortage a couple of years later, and thousands of deaths.
Ironically, she herself passed out publicly, from the flu, during this period.

Her influence, when it was seen, has mostly been destructive.

In Hillary’s mind, since she is responsible for Bill Clinton getting elected, she can claim responsibility for Bill being there to sign the legislations since Bush would not.

Apparently some RAT politicians have realized their own RAT party did not exactly flourish under the Clintons. and they are not loaning their career track records to Hillary for more blantantly self-serving stuff the HillBillaryies.

Her tireless work on that legislation is seared... SEARED into her mind.

It’s just not seared into truth.

The sharks are circling the bleeding injured female walrus. The pantsuit polyester is the only thing holding them off.

She will next claim credit for diddling Monica, thereby trying to claim the most hallowed ground of the Clinton legacy.

"If you really want to get into history, as a senator she DID force changes on flu vaccine negotiations with manufacturers. This led DIRECTLY to the flu vaccine shortage a couple of years later, and thousands of deaths."

Because of Hillary's idiotic meddling, the USA lost the only manufacturer we had of flu Vaccines, which is the reason we had those shortages. We had to rely on supplies from some Brit co., which for one reason or another had to shut down production because of contamination concerns. We could have gotten flu vaccines from Canada, but because of more idiotic bureaucratic red tape which Hillary was responsible creating, we couldn't import them.

Hillary's only claim to "fixing health care" was giving Americans a glimpse into the future of how government run health care will fail the American public miserably.

And I should add, costing each and every working American 1/3 of their paycheck for health care that will be even worse (but just as expensive) than what Canadians get.
