Islam intrinsically violent - convert
News.com.au ^ | 3/23/2008

ITALIAN editor and critic of Islamic extremism Magdi Allam, who converted to Catholicism from Islam and was baptised by Pope Benedict XVI, today branded his former faith as intrinsically violent. "I had to do this (abandon Islam)", Allam wrote in a long letter to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.

"Beyond ... the phenomenon of extremists and Islamist terrorism at the global level, the root of evil is inherent to a physiologically violent and historically conflictual Islam," wrote the Egyptian-born journalist, who says he has received death threats and is under police protection.

One of seven adults baptised during an Easter vigil yesterday evening, Allam, 55, is an editorial writer and deputy editor at Corriere.

Regarding a combative tone that has made him famous in Italy, Allam wrote: "Over the years my spirit has been freed from the obscurantism of an ideology that legitimises lies and deception, violent death that leads to homicide and suicide, blind submission to tyranny."

He described Catholicism as "an authentic religion of Truth, Life and Freedom".

By baptising Allam in the public ceremony, the Pope "sent an explicit and revolutionary message to a church that until now has been too cautious in the conversion of Muslims ... because of the fear of being unable to protect the converted who are condemned to death for apostasy," Allam said.

"Thousands of people in Italy have converted to Islam and practise their faith serenely," he wrote. "But there are also thousands of Muslims who have converted to Christianity who are forced to hide their new faith out of fear of being killed by Islamist terrorists." Allam adopted the Christian name of Cristiano (Christian), not a common name in Italy.

I applaud this man’s faith and courage, but I also hope he has some good security.

This individual’s life journey should be made into a movie (hopefully a long one, not a short one ending in Christian martyrdom).
Something in his native language(s) that may lead others to a true, light faith.

"Beyond ... the phenomenon of extremists and Islamist terrorism at the global level, the root of evil is inherent to a physiologically violent and historically conflictual Islam,"

Something we all knew; but the credibility of the source is unimpeachable and obliterates all sophistry to the contrary.

"an ideology that legitimises lies and deception, violent death that leads to homicide and suicide, blind submission to tyranny.""

No mater how many apostates from Islam step forward to expose Islam for what it really is, our politicians just won't listen.

This brave man has at least saved his soul from certain damnation, but he is now marked for death by Islam. Mohammad ordered that all apostates be killed.

There are 109 verses of violence in the Koran...that’s every twelfth verse.

The truth this man is telling has not yet been confronted in the West, and certainly NOT by our so-called leaders. Even I would concede that it is not so easy to face the fact that 1.2 billion people on this planet are mired in a 7th century philosophy—one that is often inhuman and recommends enslaving half of its own population and targeting more than half the world’s remaining population for death or enslavement.

Even if 90 percent of believers are eventually persuaded to accept co-existence with the West, a global population of 100 million angry, bloodthirsty “true” believers is enough to threaten all of us.

And, this situation is gonna get way worse before it gets any better at all. If it does.

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed his fear that the posting to the Internet of Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ “Fitna”—a film linking Islamist violence with passages from the Koran—would “incite retribution.”

Ban said that “while freedom of speech sounds good in theory, its advocates are overlooking the risks. The Koran bids Muslims to spare unbelievers who submit and pay the jizya. But does Wilders acknowledge this option for peaceful coexistence with Islam? No. He one-sidedly focuses on the consequences to those who stubbornly reject this offer.”

“We must recognize that the real fault lies not with the Muslims, but with those who would place their values ahead of those of other cultures,” Ban continued. “The West’s failure to yield the right-of-way is responsible for the collision with Islam. The sooner we learn to comply, the safer we will all be.”

Following the release of his film, several Islamic web sites have posted Wilders’ picture in hopes that “someone may carry out Allah’s command against this infidel.” There have also been the usual street demonstrations in Muslim countries where mobs demand that Wilders be “butchered.”

“Peaceful coexistence with Islam”?? What is Ban thinking??

“Islamic governments have never and will never be established through peaceful solutions and and cooperative councils. They are established as they [always] have been. By pen and gun, by word and bullet, by tongue and teeth. ...These young men realized that an Islamic government would never be established except by the bomb and rifle. Islam does not coincide or make a truce with unbelief, but rather confronts it. The confrontation that Islam calls for...does not know Socratic debates, Platonic ideals, nor Aristotelian diplomacy. But it knows the dialog of bullets, the ideals of assassination, bombing, and destruction, and the diplomacy of the cannon and machine gun.” —From the al-Qaida terrorist manual (http://www.usdoj.gov/ag/manualpart1_1.pdf)

Ban is equating infidels paying a tax to survive as “coexisting peacefully.” If Muslims wanted to coexist peacefully with us they would respect our religion and let us live without paying them a tax. And what is “the sooner we comply, the better” supposed to mean? That we all submit to Shari’ah law??

I would ask how this moron got to be Secretary General of the UN, but the UN part answers the question.
