The Democrats’ Jimmy Dhimmi Carter Problem
Michelle Malkin ^ | April 23, 2008 | Michelle Malkin

My column this week looks at the Dems’ Dhimmi Carter problem. Even the left-wing SF Chronicle is advising him to stay home. The Palestinians deride the Postman. Samuel Segev fills in the blanks of what Carter left out of his progress report. Jay Ambrose jibes: “Carter has demonstrated that one determined individual can do harm aplenty on his own.”

The Democrats’ Jimmy Carter problem

So much for Jimmy Carter’s triumphal peace mission in the Middle East. Like everything else he has done on foreign policy, the world’s biggest tool for jihad propaganda created yet another bloody mess. Quick review:
After proclaiming that Hamas terrorists were willing to accept Israel as a “neighbor next door,” Carter’s Hamas hug buddies flipped him the bird. They gladly accepted the diplomatic legitimacy Carter’s visit conferred upon them, while clinging bitterly to their insistence on the destruction of the Jewish state.

After laying a wreath in honor of the murderous Yasser Arafat, Carter dutifully agreed to deliver a letter from kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit to his parents on behalf of the terrorists who are holding him hostage. Shalit’s father rightly jeered Carter as nothing more than a postman for Hamas.

After Carter asserted that the State Department never clearly opposed his trip, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice pointed out that she had explicitly warned him against meeting with Hamas. Not to mention all those bold-faced, unequivocal headlines before the trip announcing that “State Department opposes Carter meeting with Hamas chief” (USA Today) and “Rice Criticizes Carter for Reported Meeting Planned With Hamas” (Fox News).

What part of “Don’t meet with the Jew-hating killers, you idiot!” didn’t Carter understand?

After the events of this week, the cannibalization of the Democrats coming to a head, the national fiasco the Democratic Party has managed to unleash upon the country, the bloodletting that shows no sign of ending anytime soon.... and now, their biggest embarrassment, Jimmy Carter, the vacuous, vainglorious, globe-trotting buffoon, having now metastasized into full-blown fiasco.... I am convinced that God is definitely a (Free) Republican.

The MSM will crank up their hate machine as soon as they've got their nominee, and go after McCain.

If the 1995 propaganda war against Newt Gingrich and the congressional Republicans is any gauge, the press will leave not one stone standing on another.

The 1995 campaign, for instance, saw the invention of the "mad Republican bomber" meme (put about by Tim Robbins in the movie Arlington Road) and the coinage, by a TIME staffer, of the phrase "Clinton hater". It made Newt Gingrich the most hated and despised man on earth, going into his private life for fuel to dump on him and light up. To this day, all U.S. women hate Gingrich because they've heard the divorce-papers story (and I don't even know if it's true).

The Republicans are going to be on the receiving end of a hurricane of hatred and despite this fall.

Two big differences between 1995 and now: The Internet and McCain’s hero status. The L.A. Times tried going after McCain’s military “pension” the other day, but it looks to have sunk like a lead balloon. Neither Obama nor Hillary have any real claim to a scintilla of military, foreign policy or executive experience of any kind, and all the GOP has to do is point this out. The American public isn’t going to let a shrewish Haus Frau or an ACORN neighborhood organizer take the nuclear football and run with it. We aren’t that far gone, yet.

John McCain is the luckiest man on Earth since Ringo Starr.

Obama got it backwards, there is no one more bitter and unhappy than the average liberal Democrat and even more bitterness from the elites of their party who are their respected leaders.

Obama was an ACORN guy?

That bunch just about runs New Orleans -- or it did, when I lived there, in the 70's. Scum of the earth, thieves and worse.

They put on the Spinks-Ali fight in the Superdome, brought in other investors and stripped out all the cash. Big lawsuit erupted, but they'd already bought their judge. They're continent-class scum.
