Sinator InSain thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt since they are the same age.

If America changes its mind about energy, so will the Maverick. $4/gal gas will start the discussion, even among Rats. Even a Dim doesn’t want to be riding around in electric lawnmowers.

Pray for W and Our Troops

The Elite Democrats won’t, just the Democrat supporters who are an after-thought post election.

So far, it is far easier to blame Big Oil and tax their profits. The public is ill-informed about the issue and the politicians and the MSM want to keep it that way. And any solution is still years away from putting more oil on the market or nuclear power. The environmental wackos have infiltrated our schools and the inmates are in charge of the asylum.

I went to a Sierra Club meeting in NoVA a few months ago to try to connect the dots between increased energy needs and population growth largely due to immigration. The meeting drew a huge number of tree huggers who were hell bent on trying to shut down a clean coal plant that was being built in southern VA. The electricity supplied by the plant was for NoVA, which is experiencing rapid growth. Each year the state adds 50,000 new customers, residential and commerical. These people could care less about why the additional energy was needed. They would rather listen to a teary-eyed woman who lived near the site describe how much damage was being done to the land complete with slides. Jim Moran, [D-VA] agreed that the plant should not be completed.

These people are insane. I might add that this is one of the wealthiest areas in the country.

Another story: I went to a meeting held by three of our state legislators, all Dems. The issue was transportation and how to fund the needs of NoVA. One legislator asked the assembled audience how many favored raising taxes to fund the various projects. About 3/4 raised their hands in the affirmative. The rest of the meeting was just discussing what taxes needed to be raised. One suggestion that received a lot of support was to raise the gasoline tax. One woman said that gasoline was too cheap compared to the prices that people pay in Europe. When I mentioned that such a tax was regressive and hurt those in the lower income brackets more, she said that they would find a way to pay recognizing that everyone benefits.

No mention is ever made about cutting spending or reducing benefits. The "Let them eat cake" mentality is prevalent inside the Beltway.
