No big fan of McCain here, but Barr is in totally out of his league. He needs to do just butt out.

Yeah, why would any self respecting citizen want to be in a leaque with the likes of McCain or Obama?

Why would “Typical stupid Republicans” want to be like atypical stupid Libertarians?

Although I am not a Libertarian party fan, this year the "typical stupid Republicans" are voting for McCain. Typical stupid Republicans are called that because they never learn.

How about this one?

"President B. Hussein Obama?"

Nope! Not even that could motivate me to vote for McCain. Also, didn't you get the memo? Your candidate forbids you to refer to Obama using his real middle name.

Former Rep. Bob Barr says ...

Oh, so Mr. Barr says that, does he? Which means, he's trying to paint himself a viable threat to the GOP. Though not, one notes, a threat to either Obama or Hillary!.

This is just a glorified press release, in other words. An attempt to portray himself as relevant, and not much more. Feh.

I’m thinking that newt has newtered himself, sort of trying to re-do his personality - more human. Unfortunately, he’s got a smile/laugh that makes him look like the devil himself.

McCain is no better, and I'm not voting for him.

Is Iraq irrelevant as a campaign issue for you? His policy on Iraq is much better than Hillary's or Obama's, in my opinion.

Well I guess I am a “typical stupid Republican,” because I'm too dumb to think that this country would be better off to have an anti-American racist in the presidency than to have some I am at least sometimes in agreement with. But to tell you the truth I'd rather be called “stupid” than to be known as a Libertarian. That would be just plain embarrassing.

Yea, just continue down the road with your head in the sand, voting in McCain (Bush third term). Our economy really needs more H-1B visas taking American jobs for less, open border policies to continue the invasion of uneducated illegals, the continued out-sourcing of American jobs, big bank bailouts and item number one The American Occupation of Iraq. These tax monies wasted in during this occupation are being denied to our infra-structure, and social nets. We really need McCain. The party of large corporate and global interest must go the way of the Wiggs.

I might have my head in the sand, but I’m not so stupid to think that what our economy needs is everything you suggest plus a tax and spend liberal Democrat in the White House, and pro-abortion activist judges on the SCOTUS. It takes a Libertarian to believe that. (Talk about having your head in the sand. Frankly where you Libertarians have you heads is a bit more dark and dank.)

"I agree that libertarians and social conservatives need to join together and support each other’s bottom lines..."

Honestly, I don't think we'll ever see that happen. Issues like gay marriage, an end to the War on Drugs, and prostitution make up the very foundation of the libertarian philosophy of individual sovereignty and personal freedom -- issues upon which social conservatives will NEVER relent. Then you have tax policies and differing ideas on the redistribution of wealth, how we treat the poor; those are areas where social conservatives are actually moving to the left.

I'll bet the Arabs and Jews come together before libertarians and social conservatives will.
