Your screen name appears as an oxymoron. In the books we read, "smug" isn't one of the virtues.

We are a fundamentally married couple for over forty years and are on the other opposite of bitter, but annoyed at self-righteousness. Our close personal friend, Floriduh Voter, is the opposite of bitter, one who smiles in the worst of adversity. Yes we are activists, and darned well pro-life as is our ailing founder, Jim Robinson.

Aren't you?

In the case of these quicky/convenience divorces, the children should get ownership of the house/place of residence, while the mother and father should have to take turns moving in and out every two weeks. That way, the kids have a stable environment. I mean, if it isn’t hard on the kids to pack up and move so often, it shouldn’t be hard on the parents, right?

Perfect!

Thanks, but it’s actually similar to an idea I heard Dr. Laura offer many moons ago.

Some people mistake their own good fortune for proof that they are better than everyone else. Don’t let it bother you. We know better.

Yeah, it's all luck, isn't it. No hard work, commitment, loyalty, persistence, selflessness...none of that. Just plain, dumb luck.

We sure are activists, and FV is one of the best and most active among us. I’m proud to be lumped in with the likes of her.

But no, it’s God rewarding you for being better than everyone else. Other people die young, have financial problems, marry someone who changes in ways that are impossible to live with, etc. But not you. Nothing bad can happen to you, because you’re better than everyone else. And the fact that nothing bad happens to you serves as proof that you’re superior in every way.

Activist? Perhaps. I have been to the Capitol in Tallahassee carrying a sign.

Bitter? Never.

Perhaps I misread floriduh’s insistence that “…kids need their moms, especially girls….” to the exclusion of all else as bitter divorcé manbashing. Maybe.

I fail to see what JimRob’s pro-life stance has to do with this issue. Perhaps you were exercising the logically fallacy of Appeal to Authority?

Either way, it looks like we have a bunch of hens here who are buddies, do I’ll let you enjoy your clucking and scratching on this thread.

You revealed your gender. I thought you were a man. Your posts were loaded with testerone and male pride. Who takes out the garbage? (see now we are just playing)

No maybe about it. You did. FV cares about people. She doesn't need to share their experiences to share their concern. She has long advocated for intact families. That includes mothers and fathers. But that is not what the main issue is here. This is a bill that will tend to separate children from their mothers. It will have other negative effects too, but the most common effect will be denying children the nurturing of their mothers. FV is right to say that's a bad thing. I fail to see how anyone could disagree, unless they're holding a grudge against FV for her well-known support of the right to life on other threads. She does have a following of disrupters who pride themselves on arguing against her at every turn. You look like one of those clowns.

Kids need a mom and a dad, and they need both of them in their home.

Once you have kids, folks, it’s not about you anymore.

Suck it up and be husband and wife, married parents.

Tell ya what, produce one single post from me to FV prior to today, and we'll continue the discussion.

testosterone. (I left out the “ost”). Anyway, I did this thread about a bill, not about a Bill or a Sally. It’s English Law, there’s a tribunal and it’s not visitation, it’s time sharing. Kids treated like Monopoly pieces. Someone must be the custodial parent and someone must be the non-custodial parent. This bill blurs that designation. And, finally, I know there are women out there who are hell on wheels. I’m no man basher. I’m a legislature basher.

Barack Obama accused Pennsylvanians of being bitter. So, in that light, I’ll accept it as a complement. I will have an update on today’s protest tonight or tomorrow. The active activists really did go to Tallahassee today. FV

What's one of the first sentences children say?

"I want my mommy."

: ) Ordered and adjudged by FV that kids need their moms. Not slamming dads...

Any time a liberal tries to insult me, I take it as a compliment. When liberals hate me, it reinforces my knowledge that I’m right.

20 minutes and counting...

I’m not saying someone should stay in an abusive relationship or with an addict, but come on folks, stop being so selfish about YOUR needs when you have kids.

Get some religious based counseling, and not from some new-age liberal church either.
