NORTH BEND, Wash. — Senator John McCain intensified his criticism of President Bush and the administration’s environmental polices on Tuesday, taking a walk in the cold, rain-drenched foothills of the Cascade Mountains and asserting that in the effort to stem climate change, “America can lead and not obstruct.”
At an outdoor news conference in the Cedar River Watershed east of Seattle, Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, declared that “the president and I have disagreed on this issue for many years — it isn’t a recent disagreement.” He added, “There is a longstanding, significant, deep, strong difference on this issue between myself and the administration.”
Mr. McCain was on his second day of a trip to the Pacific Northwest, a potential swing region in the November election, to promote his plan to slow global warming and appeal to the region’s many independent voters who view the environment as an election issue of critical concern. Mr. Bush, who questioned the scientific basis for global warming in his first term, is deeply unpopular, and Mr. McCain, whom the president endorsed at the White House in March, has been sprinting away from him this week.

This guy is treading a fine line. From what I see, nothing short of running as a Democrat will help. Bush and the 2000+ Republicans have totally destroyed the Republican party. I piss on all of them.

Dear RNC/GOP,
It is becoming rapidly apparent that your organization and Mr. McCain have decided that it's better to suck up to the Left and try to steal votes from the other side.
Kicking the conservative base to the side of the political road so that you can pick up the center-left/moderate/undecided vote will gain you nothing, because
no one will trust you.
The conservative base will likely sit this one out because you don't care about our vote or our Nation. I'm so disgusted with you all that I'm willing to sit it out and risk letting Obama literally murder millions of people thru his complete, utter incompetency.
So, go ahead and suck up to the Left all you want. Good luck because you're gonna need it. Badly.
Don't forget to stamp your feet, hold your breath until you turn blue, refuse to eat your spinach, and run away from home (not neccesarily in that order).

They remind me of the Whigs. The GOP is utterly worthless as political opposition to the socialists. Too often they are caddies for them.
