And Republicans wonder why conservatives and many “moderates” have abandon them.

Senator Frankenfeinstein forgets that the voters of California, who are AGAINST amnesty for illegals, will remember this when she asks us to return her to the Senate in four years.

California Republican Party - PLEASE pay attention!

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho)

I guess Mr. Wide Stance isn't as conservative as many tried to make us believe.

Why can’t Mexicans just use their own ID instead of stealing others? Mexican licences perfectly legal here.

If this Congress fails to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants this time around, then the next Congress will truly succeed to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants. I don’t understand why our present Congress won’t just wait until after mid-January ‘09 when the next Congress truly will be a socialistic super-majority along with a President who is also for amnesty for illegal immigrants.

The measure would grant temporary legal status to 1.35 million illegal immigrants

Nothing "temporary" about it. It is another "five year" program. Five years is FULL amnesty. Here is why...

If an alien is in the country legally, i.e. a work visa for five years they are eligable under immigration law to apply for naturalization (citizenship).

General Naturalization Requirements

Age
Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Refer to the section, Naturalized Citizen's Children under Waivers, Exceptions, and Special Cases for information on applicants who are less than 18 years old.
See Also INA 334

Residency
An applicant must have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence. Lawfully admitted for permanent residence means having been legally accorded the privilege of residing permanently in the United States as an immigrant in accordance with the immigration laws. Individuals who have been lawfully admitted as permanent residents will be asked to produce an I-551, Alien Registration Receipt Card, as proof of their status.

See Also INA 316

Residence and Physical Presence

An applicant is eligible to file if, immediately preceding the filing of the application, he or she:

has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence (see preceding section);
has resided continuously as a lawful permanent resident in the U.S. for at least 5 years prior to filing with no single absence from the United States of more than one year;
has been physically present in the United States for at least 30 months out of the previous five years (absences of more than six months but less than one year shall disrupt the applicant's continuity of residence unless the applicant can establish that he or she did not abandon his or her residence during such period)
has resided within a state or district for at least three months

Contact your senators.

Well, one of mine is Senator Craig, so I hope you'll forgive me for not contacting him too closely. He is a guy who has certainly touched our lives, so to speak - I know now never to whistle or tap my toes in a public crapper lest I end up being separated from my senior Senator with the Jaws Of Life. But Lar' has always been on the BigAg take with respect to illegal immigration. I have been in touch on the topic, several times, and I've given up.

He's done. And if he runs for re-election as a Republican the Republicans are done.

>>>>> “If you like Maryland crabs, vote for this amendment.”

Why increase the number of foreign workers when the Maryland commercial crab harvest will be reduced by 50 percent this year?

the Feinstein-Craig measure revived instantaneously the controversy that caused conservatives to lash out at the White House and Congress last summer

As always our elected representatives count on the hummingbird-like attention spans of the unwashed masses, or the American Idol grande finale, to distract us from demanding accountability for their dirty deals.

"Yo Dog, that was kinda pitchy - just aight for me dude."

According to Feinstein, the legislation is supported by the American Farm Bureau, the United Farm Workers, and other similar organizations but this is likely because it allows those employers to continue paying excessively low wages.

And how much insurance business does the farm bureau want to lose!! Will be asking my agent tomorrow?

>>But the H-2A visa program exists and works without a cap.
......

Additionally, AgJobs would maximize H-2B visas....<<

Wait a minute. If there is no cap, why would they need to “maximize” H-2Bs?????
