Washington (AP) Karl Rove says he didn't interfere with the Justice Department's prosecution of a former Alabama governor.
President Bush's former chief political adviser told ABC's "This Week" program today that he only learned about the investigation and indictment of Don Siegelman "by reading about it in the newspaper." Siegelman was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for a 2006 bribery conviction. He was released in March thanks to a federal appeals court ruling. He has accused Republican operatives of pushing his prosecution.
Rove also told ABC today that it will be up to the courts to decide whether he should have to testify to Congress. He says a House panel wants to be able to call White House aides to testify on a "whim." Last week, the panel ordered Rove to appear in July. Lawmakers want to ask him about the Siegelman case and about the White House role in firing nine U.S. attorneys.

Moonbats are all over Karl Rove.

I wonder what is really up with these 9 attorneys. Even after all this time, the left is STILL hysterical about them getting canned. Something was going on with these lawyers and the ‘RATS. The ‘RATS never made this much stink after their boy Willie fired ALL of them.

You know, the continuing adventures of Karl Rove and the left remind me of something...I can’t quite remember what, but it’ll come to me...ah, got it!
The Roverunner (Rovus bastardus magnificens)
vs.
Left E. Coyote (Canis leftmedius obsessicus)
...and the chase always seems to end in some variation on this:
[thup!thup!thup!] “Beepbeep!” [BANG!]

Listened to Rove today: An amazing cohesive, comprehensive speaker. Every duck lines up.
The opposite of Obama's "empty" rhetoric.

The RATS never made this much stink after their boy Willie fired ALL of them. Including the one who was investigating White Water, IIRC.

So, can someone be compelled to testify before congress? What are the consequences if one should flip them the bird?

So, can someone be compelled to testify before congress? What are the consequences if one should flip them the bird? My understanding, and I am open to correction if I am wrong, is that if Congress calls you or I to testify, we have to show up..or have a very good reason not to show up..but if they call up someone from the Executive branch, like Rove, then it becomes difficult to compel testimony from an equal branch of govt..my two cents..
