Assuming the tape really exists, once the Obama people raise the issue that Michelle said
"Why'd he" and not "Whitey," they will have effectively neutralized it as a campaign issue.
People will hear what they want to hear, and the mere fact that there is a question about what she actually said will be enough of a distraction that the tape itself will no longer have any impact.
