Here's the pertinent yet unconfirmed quote: "Michelle Obama, 'Once again, the white man keeps us down, what’s up with Whitey, Why’d he attack Iraq, Why’d he let Katrina happen, Why’d he leave millions of children behind. This is the legacy the white man gives us.'”

When you look at it in context, she's referring to "Whitey" and using "Why'd he" in that context. In effect, Why'd "Whitey" attack Iraq, Why'd "Whitey" let Katrina happen...

Oh, and she's NOT talking about Bush. Now, keep in mind that all this is conjecture because no one here (including yourself) has seen the tape. But you're using an erroneous argument based on what's been published on FR thus far.

Nobody think's she's saying "whitey." But obviously you're having trouble wrapping your arms around the notion that THEY think it's incredibly damaging, or the Obama camp wouldn't be trying to cover this up. It's what she says, not her enunciation.
