Nevertheless, under pressure from a “radicalized” populace, Klein said, that Obama could not only get the U.S. out of Iraq but carry out a “Green New Deal” and transform the U.S. economy.

'Radicals' apparently aren't even shy about identifying themselves these days.

One of the first things dictators do is control the media. Expect Barry to appoint an FCC commissioner who hates freedom of speech.

” Earlier in the day, Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.), who sits on a House committee with jurisdiction over the Federal Communications Commission, told this columnist that he favors the return of the so-called Fairness Doctrine, in order to restore “balance” to the airwaves. Such a measure was used under the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations to intimidate and regulate the content of conservative commentators and broadcasters.

Return of the Fairness Doctrine or other measures to limit and control conservative speech could come about because Doyle predicted that the November elections will result in Democrats in the House increasing their numbers from 235 to 265 and in the Senate to close to 60, in addition to Obama‘s predicted win. “

Previews of coming attractions if this nitwit makes it into office. Wake up people!!!

In Obama's America, will Rush Limbaugh's Exile in Broadcasting Network be hosted in a freedom friendly country, or will he be in a ship off the coast hunted by the dwindling remains of the US Navy?

When we said “free speech” - we didn’t mean for people who disagree.

“Media Reform” Activists Cheer Obama (and FCC commish Copps cheers along with them)”

The irony of the likes of Matt Lauer and Harry Smith getting axed because they’re not far enough to the left does does have a certain amount of appeal. I watched part of this conference live. These chipper, grinning idiots openly advocate what is ultimaely facism without having the foggiest clue about what they’re doing. It’s stunning.

Arianna Huffington is a brainless raver. She has no credibility whatsoever.

Several speakers, including Federal Communications Commissioner Michael Copps, used the Obama campaign slogan, “Yes, we can,” as they urged the thousands of “progressives” in the audience to bring “change” to Washington, D.C.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, well Dubya did it again with his "reaching out"...

He never learned, you stick your hand out to Dems and they bite it off.

John McCain is going to pay homage to La Raza but has no time to meet Rev. Billy Graham. We are doomed.

Aren’t shy about identifying themselves because half the country has swallowed the koolaid and the other half is asleep. The depth to the stupidity..the lack of knowledge of history!? Truly amazing how naive ....these people really believe that with the right people in charge we will have utopia, that government can save them... despite the lessons of history.

The very end of Kincaid's story is the real bottom line on that conference:

...it had also become absolutely clear that the "media reform" movement has emerged as a critical part of the partisan political effort to help the Democratic Party gain absolute and total political power on the federal level and to use that power to silence conservative and Republican voices in the media.

Another compelling reason to see to it that the 'Rats will never again own the presidency in our lifetime.

“... and transform the U.S. economy.”

But into what, I ask? Anything that even remotely resembles a live, functioning, free-market economy? Highly doubtful...
