Wisconsin has been agonizingly close in recent Presidential elections and current polling data suggests its likely to be a very competitive state again in November 2008.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Wisconsin shows Barack Obama earning 45% of the vote while John McCain attracts support from 43%. This is the third time in four Rasmussen Reports polls that the candidates have been within two percentage points of each other. All four polls have shown the gap between the candidates smaller than the margin of error (+/- 4.5 percentage points). In two of the four polls, Obama has held the statistically insignificant lead. In the other two, McCain was on top by a statistically insignificant margin.
The latest survey was conducted two days after Barack Obama clinched the Democratic Presidential Nomination. He has enjoyed a modest bounce in national polling and currently leads McCain in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.

That’s down for McCain from the last poll, get to work.
Wisconsin is always close for some reason.
Given Osama’s level of media attention, he should be much further ahead than this. Chalk up Wisconsin to McCain’s column in November.
It’s down to the wire in Wisconsin again.
These numbers should be troubling to Obama. He’s had lots of attention, and almost all of it positive. He was just victorious in the primary, which should give him a bounce. Obama should be ahead by 10 points right now. Him only being ahead by two could be a sign of things to come. I’ll be he’s 2 points down a couple of months from now after the campaign fully engages, if McCain is willing to wage a serious campaign.
OMG! This can not be true!!!!!!!.....
This is great news for Mac!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha, the MSM has to be nervous!!!
It will be right up to election day. It won’t be easy but I think McCain can take it however.
yeah but they just “spin” their nervousness as always...
I am tired of Wisco voting for the Rats. I was going to come back to Superior and take on Obey for his seat, but the Navy just screened me for Commander a couple of days ago after coming back from Iraq. I am going to have to hold off for a few more years. Still have work to be done.
A conservative county judge, Mike Gableman, just ousted a sitting Liberal for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. This happened without Milwaukee and Madison who, of course, voted for the Liberal. Hopefully there’s a strong conservative undercurrent in the rest of the state.
If the messiah is tied with Mac in Wisconsin and losing to him in Michigan, then Barry and his MSM supporters are in deep doo doo. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!
Once the truth gets out, Liberals won’t be polling so well. Everyone I know is at their boiling point. It ain’t gonna be pretty when the American public finally figures out that Liberals/Environmentalist/Obama and his cohorts have been trashing Americans and our future.
Worth printing out and taping to gas pumps.....
$140 a barrel petroleum, and its headed further up. Adding to the cost of food, possible inflation and driving the dollar down in international trade. And we are at the mercy of Venezula, Iran and other bad actors, as well as Nigeria and other unstable places, due to our huge need for imported oil.
So what has congress done?
ANWR Exploration
House Republicans: 91% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed
Coal-to-Liquid
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 78% Opposed
Oil Shale Exploration
House Republicans: 90% Supported

Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Exploration

(And the Democrats do this as Cuba and China drill for Cuba barely 50 miles off our shores in South Florida)
Refinery Increased Capacity
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 96% Opposed

The Democrats have sold out to radical environmentalists, and in doing so have set in place the conditions that can bring ruin to this nation.
Wonder why your groceries cost more? Why you are paying $4 and soon $5 a gallon for gasoline? Wonder why your power bill is going up?
*Put the blame where it belongs: the Democrats*
When will the American People wake up?
It costs the Saudis about $2.00 / barrel to get their oil out of the ground and into a tank.
The Saudis (wahabbis) hate the USA and Israel, and we’re paying them (a world market, actually) about $140.00 / barrel.
About 30 years ago, the USA imported approx 25% of its’ oil, and OPEC nearly ruined our economy with their embargo. Congress talked-tough and decided to reduce our dependancy on foreign oil.
Today, the USA imports approx 70% of our oil and refined oil products.
“Wisconsin is always close for some reason.”
It’s called Madison and Milwaukee. And, of course, the large number of Minnesotans (liberal) and Illinoians (liberal) who own property there and vote.
Madison........
How come the RNC doesn’t run commercials showing those statistics? Right now the Republicans are getting all the blame for high gas prices.
WI is probably like PA in that you’d see more red in a county by county breakdown. But also like PA, it’s very difficult to overcome the large liberal base in the big cities.
