There were also demonstrations in Tehran yesterday. An Iranian friend reports that he's having trouble keeping up with all the demonstrations breaking out across the country over various issues, but all against regime policy or behavior
Don't hold your breath waiting for our MSM to report them

Fabulous....thanks for posting. | wasn’t aware...
After the revolution relatively few wanted an "Islamic Republic" but it was too late. The Ayatollah Khomeini had his people in place to suppress the opposition. I don't believe he had anything like majority support for an "Islamic Republic."
With effective nationwide communication I bet the Iranian people could topple the Islamists. The question of course is how to provide the communication.
“With effective nationwide communication I bet the Iranian people could topple the Islamists. “
Michael Ledeen, Michael Rubin, Ken Timmerman and others have been calling for that for years.
Thank you very much for bringing these events to our attention. These demonstration plus the Iranian border guards taken hostage.

Thank you. I’ve read several books on the Revolution. I’ll see what those gentlemen have written about current factors.
Sadly the writings you will find fail to consider the $520 Million the Mullahs have spent on re-equipping and training the Bassiji (Suppression) Forces that are now in charge of the Revolutionary Guards and have announced that the focus of security is INWARD and not what may hapen from the outside.
PLUS a recruitment of TWO MILLION people to bolster the formerly almost totally Arab mercenary forces of less than a quarter that number.
The relatively new “311” number to call in reports to the authorities and snitch on reinds and neighbors has added to the stress.
There are some “Emarat” cell phones that can use the towers across the Persian Gulf and are still not fully tappable by the Islamic Regime that might be used - but in the face of the terror being inflicted on the populace, it needs more than communications.
It needs a lot more that cannot be posted here.
Iran is well stocked with Internet and Mobile phones. Communication, especially with outside help wouldn’t be the largest problem. However, as FARS pointed out, the regime has enforced their vast system of supression. Without an armed population, or at least defections from large parts of the Army there is little room.
lefties do not care about human rights for muslims, just for special interest groups in countries that can be portrayed as capitalist and/or white run. They are no longer “liberal”
What you describe matches what I remember reading of the behavior in the early days of the revolution.
They left nothing to chance always ready to suppress any difference of opinion even within the Revolution using common street thugs, kept on call, against any group or person no mater where. If I remember correctly the thugs were the original Hezbollah. Of course the Revolution also quickly assumed the "duties" of SAVAK.
“how the mullahs were stealing the people’s money and lining their own pockets.” ................................. WOW! Who would have thought? They become politicians and they lined their pockets? Aren’t we lucky, that could never happen here. sarc/ This is nothing new, its a known fact, and the sad part is many of the Mullahs came from outside of Iran, thanks to Khomeini.
Thanks for the ping pong...
Mashad's interesting - a nice mix of intellectuals and students who hate Jimmah, and diehards who back I'mAdinnerJacket.
