IDAHO. Governor Butch Otter (R) is hinting he may work behind the scenes to defeat bombastic freshman Congressman Bill Sali (R) in November.

Of course the gay Obamaite Gunzburger may be reading too much into Otter's comment.
Possible immature fratricide ping.
Otter is a Governor? I knew John ‘Bluto’ Blutarsky became a Senator, but Otter?
I hear the name Butch Otter, and I think of an Mustelidae wearing leather and spikes, and a handlebar moustache...
Heh. Google “Mr. Tight Jeans”
Is this a RINO vs. a true believer situation, or is just a bad blood deal?
“Otter is a Governor? I knew John ‘Bluto’ Blutarsky became a Senator, but Otter?”
LOL! I just recorded that on TIVO to watch for the hundredth time.
ROFLOL!!
Near as I can tell, it’s the latter.
Sali won the ‘06 GOP primary in a very bare-knuckled way. His time as a state legislator was characterized the same way.
In short, he made a lot of enemies and 2008 is possible payback time.
OK, then you have an assignment. From the IMDB comments, there is some question as to whether or not the line "Get your thumb out of my arse" is spoken after the bleachers collapse in the parade scene. Verify and report back, please.
I just left Idaho and moved to Pennsylvania and am sorry to leave Bill Sali.
Otter can go pound sand.
What part of Pa. did you move to?
Some wiki stuff:
Sali and his wife, Terry, have been married since 1976 and have six adult children.
Sali was first elected to the Idaho House of Representatives in 1990. During his time there, he gained a reputation as a staunch conservative on social and economic issues, frequently drawing the ire of the more moderate Republican house leadership.
Sali was elected president of the 20072008 Republican freshman class.
Voted against SCHIP expansion, consistently voted to support the Iraq War and has opposed all legislation aimed at withdrawing the United States' troops from Iraq. Sali is a member of the House Immigration Reform Caucus and is an opponent of President Bush's proposal for comprehensive immigration policy reform. "Amnesty does nothing to secure our borders," Sali said.
In August 2007, Sali expressed concerns over what he perceives as a deterioration of the "Christian heritage" of the United States and the rise of multiculturalism in U.S. politicslargely with reference to the 2006 election of Keith Ellison, the first Muslim member of the U.S. House of Representatives and to the Hindu prayer offered by Rajan Zed in the opening of the U.S. Senate on July 12, 2007. Sali said these events were "not what was envisioned by the Founding Fathers" and said that America was founded on Christian principles.
He sure wants me to register (tax) my paddle powered kayak though.
I think of that muppet spin-off, “Emmett Otter’s Christmas.”
Man, was it depressing.
but losing a house seat to the rats over just not likin each other is a steaming pile of crap!.
My mother lives in Sali’s district. A life-long conservative Republican, she almost didn’t vote in the 2006 Congressional race because she disliked Sali so much and couldn’t bring herself to vote for a Democrat. She said she voted for Sali but won’t again. I’ve never really gotten a clear answer as to why she so dislikes Sali.

That is why HBO only had one pilot of Emmett Otter. What a DOWNER from Jim Henson.
