Intelligence Minister Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejeii on Sunday said his ministry was informed of a U.S. plot to kidnap President Mahmud Ahmadinejad during his trip to Iraq in March.
The Intelligence Ministry was unaware of the plan to kidnap the president before he traveled to Iraq. We were informed of the plot when the president was staying in Iraq and finally by taking some security measures, the U.S. plan was aborted, Ejeii told reporters.
Earlier this month, Ahmadinejad said the enemies had planned to kidnap and kill him in Iraq but the plot was foiled after the Iranian delegation changed their travel plans.
Based on reliable intelligence, the enemies had planned to kidnap and kill the servant of the Iranian nation during the Iraq trip
But with the change of one or two of our plans, their willpower was shaken.

You do mean OWNED by the Iranian Government, don’t you...
yes.
If we were to do this we would skip the "kidnap" step and go straight to the "kill" step.
OPINION:
Ahmadinejad, the propagandist who goes on and on and on....
Maybe he can get a job with the New York Times as a journalist.
Ahmadinnerjacket needs to head over to that damn moldy well he’s always shouting down to see what the 13th Imammy thinks of all this.
Sounds like a propaganda attempt to pump-up Mahmud Ahmadinejad’s popularity ratings by making him more sympathetic or appearing to be brave, bold, and determined.
I don’t think it’ll work.
I would be nice to see that SOB assume room temperature.
Quite frankly, why would the US want the trouble associated with kidnapping this moronic sack of crap. As some kind of bargaining chip? What a laugh. The whole world knows that Muslims readily throw their own kind, women, children and undoubtedly presidents under a bus in the name of “holy” jihad. The Mullahs wouldn’t waver one warble over their tinny megaphones lamenting over this loser. He’s completely worthless - not even worth a bullet.
Guess he’s taking lessons from his new buddy in Venezuela...
Man, would I like to hear the details on this claim. It seems to me that a clown named Moammar Kadafi made similar claims one time and "drew a line in the sand", whereupon President Reagan just about blew his ass off. Strangely, we didn't hear much from him after that. Of course, now we're so hung up on being politically correct these days, we lack the stones to do that. However, that's exactly what we need to do. I am so tired of piss-ant, penny tyrants pushing this great country around.
Perhaps the kidnap step was included in order to allow for being able of taking a video that would be acceptable on Al Jazeera. That way we could water-board him and take other appropriate action on his little short worthless body.
