Oakland Youths behind multiple Alameda burglaries, police say (Illegal Criminal Anchor Baby Alert)
Contra Costa Times ^ | 6/10/08 | Peter Hegarty

A 10-year-old boy was among four Oakland youths who carried out a string of residential burglaries during the past month, stealing laptops, iPods and other electronic equipment, investigators say.

The youths would travel into Alameda on bicycles during daylight hours and target properties where no one was home, making off with items that were easily carried in backpacks, according to police.

The group includes two brothers, who are ages 10 and 15, and their 12-year-old sister. The third boy is 15 years old and their friend.

Investigators did not disclose the names of the suspects because they are minors.

When police searched their homes following their July 4 arrest, they found up to 50 items that allegedly were stolen in at least six Alameda burglaries.

"Items were everywhere," Alameda police detective Sgt. Jill Ottaviano said.

"We found stuff under beds, in dresser drawers. It was incredible."

Among the victims was a NASA employee, whose laptop for work was stolen, and another man whose IBM think pad was stolen.

The youths were caught after they broke into a home in the 3200 block of Bayo Vista Avenue, where they used a crescent wrench to remove a window screen and then forced open a locked window, Ottaviano said.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the area after a witness thought the juveniles were suspicious as they cruised through the neighborhood on bicycles.

Ottaviano described the siblings as the children of immigrant parents who work long hours and who apparently did not know their children were allegedly carrying out burglaries.

Yes, the CC Times usually forgets the citizenship status of the parents. The legal kids who get mama and papa public aid...

The madness continues with no end in sight.

It can only get worse with our next president, both of whom have no interest at all in protecting our borders.

But Obama will probably want the cops and victims to learn Spanish to better communicate with these criminals.

So this police officer is making excuses for the illegals now??

No wonder your city deserves the crime it gets. You’ve got spineless libs for cops.

I guess those “working parents” never went in the kids rooms or looked around the house and saw 50 stolen items. Must have been blind from exhaustion.

How do we know the parents are illegal aliens? If they have 15 year old kids born here they’ve probably been here longer than that and may very well have green cards.

We don't know, but we infer because their immigrant status was mentioned. Had they been legal immigrants, it's unlikely this would've been volunteered.

You have no idea what happens here in Oakland.

It is truly a 3rd World cesspool.

If you state facts of race/crime/poverty, you are racist. So, whites just leave and move to white enclaves (OC, rural areas, rich areas) and the cities fester.

As the Liberal media conveniently passively-aggressively leaves out common sense items that we all know are true, based on the location or “migrant worker” status, I do my own inferrances.

Since my tax money funds children and jails of people who should be in Tijuana, not California. In addition, because of illegal immigration and anchor babies, as a citizen, I can infer that these low-lifes snuck across, popped out a kid, used welfare, the emergency room, WIC, free schools, HUD housing vouches...then ended up ransacking houses unsupervised.

My biggest complaint is that Americans have to tiptoe while gang bangers get the benefit of the doubt (see Gavin Newsome).

Sick of apologies.

Both of my parents worked when I was growing up, and I was a latchkey kid. I never broke into houses and stole stuff. It’s just not an excuse. For the most part, if parents raise their kids with moral values, they aren’t going to be doing anti social stuff like this.

Horse feathers! They knew. That’s the lifestyle they were taught in their own country...the only way to survive...lie, cheat and steal. And this nation becomes more like Latin America everyday. We don’t expect anyone to be honest anymore.

Police suspect the group also may have been riding stolen bicycles when they crossed into Alameda via the Fruitvale Bridge and so seized the bikes as part of their investigation.

Ya think???
