Should Barack Obama win this fall, 2009 will a busy year for enacting civil-rights legislation — perhaps the busiest since 1964.
Numerous civil-rights bills have either passed the House or are pending in various committees, just waiting for a Democrat to be elected to the White House. Traditional civil-rights groups anticipate that without the threat of veto, expanded Democratic majorities in Congress will pass a number of these bills in the first few months of 2009. Here are just a few of the bills likely to be signed by a President Obama within the next year.
Reparations Commission to Study Reparations Proposals for African-Americans Act. Rep. John Conyers has introduced this legislation every year since 1989, but with a Democrat in the White House and significant congressional majorities, this bill finally has an opportunity to be enacted. The purpose of the bill is to create a commission to study the impact of slavery in the United States and recommend appropriate remedies, including an apology to and reparations for blacks. The House Judiciary Committee on the Constitution held hearings related to the bill in December 2007. The bill is modeled after that which granted reparations to Japanese-Americans interned during World War II
Civil rights is a crock. Everyone should have the same constitutional rights. Anything beyond that is social engineering.
As for reparations, hopefully those wishing for such a gift will hold their breath waiting for a red cent from me.

We’ve had 40+ years of civil rights legislation in this country and it has hardly done one bit of good. You could give out reparations tomorrow, and it won’t make a single bit of difference. Race relations will be as bad as they have been, maybe worse.

Sure it would. All of the "brothers" would be ridin' around on 20" spinners on their Donk. The number of drug overdoses and gang related crimes would have the bodies stacked up like cord-wood.
Nope, the real problem would be when they all pissed away every cent they got in reparations. What would you do with them?
The majority of poor blacks are poorly educated. Like every other poor person of any color, they have a history of making bad choices, and this is what will keep them poor.
After 12 months at least 90% will be broke again.
There is no end, because of institutionalized racism. Whitey built the system upon keeping Black people down. How else can you explain how an immigrant, that can't even speak English, come to Whitey's USA, get a job, and in no time at all, be better off than the Black folk that have been here for generations? Many that live in the same Projects that their grandparents were raised in.
The only explanation is an evil White conspiracy.

Sadly the gov will just take it out of your taxes so you have no choice. IF B Hussien Obama is elected those taxes will go up, starting with the elimination of the tax cuts.
The leftists know that reparations would poison race relations, in fact, they are counting on it.
Proof of that is New Orleans. Many down there are suing the government to be allowed to stay in “their” mobile homes or luxury hotel rooms. Every penny of the “emergency debit cards” was gone in days.
It was the test case for reparations and the receivers of the cards and living accomodations showed it all.
Actually from 1993-95 were the years of Clinton and the Dem Congress. My bad.
If Obama gets elected Prez, can we abolish “Affirmative Action”? How can you blame “the man” when you now ARE “the man”?
Because AA is no longer about the oppression of blacks. It’s now about control.
