Look, it’s a free country. Google is not the government. Google can do what it damn pleases. Your comparison to the Soviet Union is absurd. One more time: Google is not the government.
You're right, however there are certainly some concerning implications. From the perspective of media and control, Google certainly carries a powerful influence. They are controlling the content of the debate on this issue and the availability of access to facts to support that debate one way or another. We can see what direction they want it to take if the implications of this thread are correct.
Now excuse me whilst I run about in circles screaming histerically...
“Look, its a free country. Google is not the government. Google can do what it damn pleases. Your comparison to the Soviet Union is absurd. One more time: Google is not the government.”
I think it’s the other way around. To me, it seems like the government can do anything it pleases, and there’s nothing We The Sheeple can do about it.
On the other hand, Google markets itself as a search engine - not a leftist propaganda machine, and is thus defrauding the millions of people who are using it who are expecting a simple “search and find” function from it (as opposed to “search and find and then modify according to liberal ideology).
It’s also disturbing that not only is information being censored from google results, but that false information has evidently been planted there. This story needs to get out, because only a drop in public confidence (and use) can stop them from getting away with whatever manipulation of the facts they want.
Not anymore. This demonstrates that your ability to perceive the current reality is somewhat... impaired...
Google is not the government. Google can do what it damn pleases. Your comparison to the Soviet Union is absurd. One more time: Google is not the government.
Irrelevant. What Google IS, is a business... a business that markets itself as the world's best, most comprehensive, most reliable and most "credible" search engine...
What this IS, as Pravious noted, is business fraud, and it is entirely appropriate to call them on it.
I haven't heard anyone say that seriously in at least a decade.
You must be OOOOOLD!
“Look, its a free country.”
I remember when it was.
