The US Congress has passed resolutions urging Eastern European nations including Poland to make progress on legislation regarding the restitution of private property. Though the US resolutions are nonbinding, observers argue that this is a clear signal that such legislation in Poland is long overdue.

It’s good to see that the geniuses who populate our Congress have solved all our problems and can now tell Poland what to do.
Can there be a more feckless group in D. C., fiddling while the country is burning?
“Its good to see that the geniuses who populate our Congress have solved all our problems”
It is reassuring, isn’t it?
We can disband the State Department and let congress be our diplomatic corps. They already spend more time on their junkets than in their home districts/states.
I think they have more pressing matters to focus on... things like clearing way for drilling for more of our domestic oil and not some distraction bull overseas.
If I were a Pole the question I would love to ask is can I petition the U.S. Congress for restitution for the loss of property and financial assets caused by the radical change in geographical boundaries agreed to by the U.S. government following WWII?
This just in! The U.S, Congress has passed a resolution repealing the Law of Gravity. It is just too difficult to be grave.
I’d laugh out loud if the Poles passed a resolution of their own, urging the US to compensate the Japanese-American internees of WW2, or their estates, for the actual property losses they suffered.

The Great, great, great, great, great, grandson of a Colonial Loyalist has sued Hillary Clinton in an English Court to get 'his' house back. The Mansion, currently in the USA's District of Columbia, was seized by outlaws during the rebellion against the Crown in 1776.Congress should STFU.Hillary Clinton could not be reached for comment as she was at a dinner party in another senator's Colonial Mansion - also seized from a Loyalist during the rebellion.
Thousands of Loyalists ('Tories' IIRC) were driven out of their house at bayonet point. So I'd be careful with demanding 'restitution' from anyone about anything.
Again?
I read somewhere that 98% of congressmen get re-elected.
That wasn't compensation, it was conscience money... and not much of it. A flat $20,000, 45 years after the fact, to people who lost homes, jobs, farms and businesses was pretty despicable.
At this moment this is simply a perfect move , to strenghten Poland’s determination to host the US anti-missile shield. (LOL!)
