Vanity~Illegal Alien Protest at Laborer Center in Quiet Thousand Oaks, California
The Ventura County Star ^

Interesting grass roots piece about a protest this weekend at a neighboring town. Labelled "the safest city in the country", Thousand Oaks' average income is in the six digits. I was pretty amazed to learn there was even a day laborer center THERE since they don't even allow RV's on the streets.

Good article. I hope they are successful in taking back their community. But the article actually highlighted something - these employers trying to hire illegal aliens as day laborers are not hiring unionized laborers.

I am certain that if I did not have an education, I did not speak Spanish, I did not write Spanish, I could not read Spanish, I could not support my family, and pay for my own medical care, Mexican towns would welcome me and build a large place for me and other U.S. Citizens like me to rest up while waiting for a job where we would be paid under the table, not one red cent being contributed to the taxes that paid for the building, or any part of the local community.

No puede marcharse del problema, América. Escapar a los suburbios es inútil.

Lo siento mucho, FRamigos.

I’ve recently thought of moving to Thousand Oaks but was surprised at how many Mexicans were living there now. It’s almost like we need a list of sanctuary cities for Americans, cities that enforce the law. I was looking at Simi Valley and found that it is 40 percent Mexican in the schools.

This wasn’t written by a journalist nor was it printed in the published paper. This is part of the online contributions news source. Written by a non-professional. So, to be safe, I called it a vanity.
