Gordon Smith, R-Or, spoke on the Senate floor today and said it was time to bring the troops home from Iraq. "I, for one, am at the end of my rope." Senator Smith said. Kieth Olbermann had a great quote in his newscast "Countdown." He said "Mr. Smith goes to....his conscience." Senator Smith continued saying "We have paid a price in blood and treasure." He also stated "I've tried to be a good soldier" but expressed that he could no longer. Of the way the war has been waged by the President thus far he said "that is absurd. It may even be criminal. I cannot support that anymore." Thank you very much, Mr. Smith. He also said we need to find a way to fight the war on terror, "and do it right." Sounds quite abit like what John Kerry has been saying.
