Nope, rocks are next. After decrying the British "knife culture", yobs and yutes are turning to rocks to bash people with. Some woman became a hero recently when she chased off the yutes attacking her husband. They were smashing him in the head with rocks, and she used the broom end of the broom to chase them away.

If she used the handle-end of the broom like a spear, she'd probably be in jail.

I have no doubt that the criminal element in England could use nerf bats as weapons. That means honest citizens would have to turn in their nerf toys to help fight the "nerf culture".

Our society is stifling humans natural tendency toward risk taking and individual aggressiveness. Most males especially young ones, except moderates and liberal dims, enjoy a good scrap and living life on the edge. A bloody nose and black eye now and then is good for the soul. A long time ago we had periodic smokers at high schools. Boxing matches where the gloves were so heavy just holding them up is what took you out. The coaches and phys ed teachers reffed and kept things safe and a good time was had by all. Not anymore. Males are kept caged by effeminate rules and political correctness. There are few well regulated and accessible outlets for aggression in our society. And the ladies are not immune to aggressive tendencies either. Eventually folks without outlets will snap. And when suppression is a society wide problem the avalanche will start. I think this is what is going on in England at the present time coupled with the removal of the moral restraints provided by vibrant church. Bad times ahead if they don't change their ways.

I think it is a healthy mixture of mutual disgust, two sides each convinced of their own moral superiority, equally in love with lecturing the other.

Of course, THEY are wrong! :-)

On my visits there, I received the entire range of envy, horrified fascination, and the ocassional tsunami of feces where the word "Cowboy" was thrown about, to panic.."You have GUNS? What do you DO with them?"
