HOW OBAMA HAS IMPROVED HIS CAMPAIGN PLANE

NewsBusters has a report today on campaign and reportorial analysis by ABC's Jake Tapper ("Obama Thinks He's President; Denies Media Access")
Tapper, who is about as reasonable as an MSMer working for ABC News can be, is all in a snit about how the Obama campaign has been treating reporters, especially those ensconced in Obama One for his "Tour of Duty" through the Middle East and Europe. Obama, as we've been reading the past few days, has been frightfully unavailable to reporters (I think I've even heard a bunch of complaints from Miss Perky (Katie Couric).
Scott Whitlock tell us:
Reporting from inside the Obama plane, Tapper complained in a snarky tone, "Inside, the plane has been redesigned to separate the senator and his staff from us lowly reporters." He added that Obama officials told journalists that they could brief reporters as anonymous officials. Tapper grumbled, "One of them said that's what we did at the White House during the Clinton years. We pointed out they don't work at the White House."
None of this surprises me. It shouldn't surprise Tapper and his fellow journalists, but somehow it seems to.
But I'm more interested in what follows. But first, let me digress:
Remember this:
The redesigned Presidential Seal instituted (at least temporarily) by President-in-His-Own-Mind, Barack Obama, at a Chicagoland speech on June 20, 2008. Some saw this as the arrogance of a man who has already elected himself president (thanks for waiting for the votes...); and other saw this as highly disrespectful to the office of the President, by mangling the seal.
In any event, the new seal lasted about as long as (now how would Fred Thompson put it?)...a dish of ice cream on the devil's doorstep? (Sorry Fred)
Which brings me to the rest of Tapper's comment:
Regarding the Obama plane, the ABC journalist also pointed out: "The American flag on the tail wing has been replaced by an enormous Obama O."
Now what has he done?
So I went to my sources, and came up with a few past and present views of Obama One. As Tapper notes, there is the old, and now the new.
First, Obama One as shown in a photo from mid- to late-June, 2008:
The plane bears a stylized, waving American flag wrapped around the plane's rudder, with a smaller waving flag to the left of the passenger door. Now, I've read some people grousing that they don't like to flag on the plane's rudder, but it is nonetheless, a respectable version of the American flag.
But Obama is no longer travelling in the United States: He is on his world-wind "Tour of Duty," and must shake off the shackles of his American imperialist yolk, and become more the Citizen of the World - Besides, he has to deal with a whole lot of foreign nations whose opinion of us (in Obama's eyes and the eyes of the Left) is woefully disenchanted these days.
So, what's a Lib to do?
Get rid of that pesky old American Flag, that's what!
Now, before going any further, rest assured, intrepid fellow world travelers: It is the same plane! Both bear the same serial number: N755NA.

There is no question that Obama has chosen specifically for his Mid-East-European Tour of Duty to "redesign" his campaign plane, Obama One. There is no question that is it the same plane as the prior Obama campaign plane (the serial numbers show this is the case).
The newly-redesigned exterior of the plane, which now displays the campaign's slogan: "Change We Can Believe In," and the web site address, debuted on this trip. The new version appears in no photos until the past week or so of July, 2008, and the only prior photos, which I've found in June, 2008 and back to early this year, are of the old version, with U.S. flags in place. (A prior campaign plane, used apparently prior to the primaries, was entirely different.)
Thus, we can only conclude that Sen. Obama, in his capacity as self-appointed heir to the throne (again, can we first vote, Senator?), has determined that for some reason, he cannot campaign outside this country with the American flag on his campaign plane. Well, I guess we could consider the Oprahesque stylized "O" to be the new American flag in Obamaland. He created a new Presidential Seal, why not a new national flag?
Personally, I am gratified at any steps which Barack Obama takes on this pre-coronation world tour to dissociate himself from the United States of America. I for one am glad he chose to dump the flag for this trip.

Actually, I think they use that “wrapper” advertising stuff that they use on city buses, and the like.
Doesn’t a US registered plane have to have the US flag on it somewhere? Oh, and yeah, that big “O” thing looks like the flag is being flushed down the toilet. Literally, as well as figuratively.

The reporters are pissed because they actually believe that they are part of the Obama campaign, and that accordingly they shouldn’t be treated like mere reporters. It would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.

Something that Robins missed: in the repaint the “Boeing 757” on the rear fuselage disappeared along with the flag.
Given all the uproar over the KC-45 award, maybe someone should ask Senator Obama whether he’s embarassed to be flying on an aircraft clearly marked as a Boeing product.
Stands to reason -- Obamanation has never liked the flag anyway.
To add, I meant the big prominant flag(s). Not the small one by the id number.
Hopefully he'll be circling the bowl right behind it in relatively short order.
