One adult was killed and eight others wounded -- six of them seriously -- when a man opened fire during a children's play Sunday morning at a Unitarian church in Knoxville, Tennessee, police and church members said.

As well, a second victim has just died.
My brother (sadly a Unitarian) goes to the church...he thought it was because they recently proclaimed they were gay-friendly. (I think that’s probably projection over how self-important they are.) We’ll see.
Its a little surprising to find that a Unitarian Universalist church had anything strong enough to say that would offend anyone.
He’s been identified - a white guy from Powell, name Jim D. Adkisson, 58 years old.

I heard about this a few hours after it happened. We’re in Oak Ridge.
Is that the one on Kingston Pike? If so, I went there as a kid.

Yes - this happened at the church on Kingston Pike, just west of UT.
A small one was burned in Oak Ridge on December 31, 2004. That was my church.
