All type -1’s suffer and hopefully this can be used to lessen it a few degrees... that said, more private/public money must find a better way to be used to find the Cure and less on temporary tactics.
Lets face it, a Tech band-aid will NEVER be the same as a PERMAMENT Cure.
A little misleading, a pancreas does a lot more than produce insulin, but that aside, would be welcome for millions of diabetes patients.

There's no margin for failure with this technology. If there's too much insulin, then you're dead. Without enough glucose your brain doesn't work.
I have heard this for the last 25 years. A cure and/or a replacement (transplants or artifical) are just 5 years away. I hope something happens, but I am not holding my breath.

IN THE MEANTIME
ADULT (not embryonic) stem cell research has, in the lab, induced the growth of brand new islet cells in the Pancreas (they make the insulin), and
I think the better, more favorable, hope is that improvement, and verification of that method in human clinical trials will end diabetes, providing reversal of its cause and the cause for long-term artificial administration of insulin.
