A complete reversal would have been preferable, but indeed, let’s get them out with time served and hope that someone Bush can be convinced to give them a pardon on his way out the door. It’s the least he can do for his disgraceful appointment of Johnny Rotten, er, Sutton, to the post of U.S. Attrorney for the District of Mexico.

New sentence: Time served PLUS ownership of every dime of assets currently possessed by that jackass prosecutor.

After skimming the opinion, it’s more like, “new sentence, you remain screwed.”

Typical WND article.

Read the headline. Read the article. Read the last paragraph.

Hello.

Appellate courts can and do get things wrong all the time.

They deserve to be pardoned and given back-pay and compensation for this miscarriage of justice.

OK, that says some of the charges against them had some substance in the view of the 5th circuit. Now with that knowledge, how should that temper the opinion for commutation of their sentences?

Alot of Freepers have been slamming the President for not doing that but now that a judicial review agrees with some of the charges, he was right more than he was wrong...again.

It's not the court.

The GOP congress put mandatory sentencing in place.

Right. So now we have appoached the stage where the trial court got it wrong, and the Appelate Court got it wrong. We will have to wait and see if the Supreme Court gets it wrong.

The opinion is here, for those so inclined. For those who are responding to the WND headline, have fun.

What was the crime they were in the commision of when they discharged their fire arms?

I’m not blaming the court. I spoke of the assets of the “prosecutor.”

And I wasn’t making a prediction of what will or even could happen, but rather what ought to happen, if there were any justice in the world.

No trouble keeping people in jail when the liberal judges want to do so, just when they don’t.
