Now, 2 Obama backers, Bernie Mac and Morgan Freeman, hospitalized

A bad day for Barack Obama donors.

Morgan Freeman, the iconic voice of God in several films and reliable good-guy co-conspirator of Christian Bale's Batman in "The Dark Knight," is in serious condition in a Memphis hospital after a late-night car accident near his home in Mississippi.

The popular Freeman, who is 71, gave the Obama presidential campaign $2,300 on March 8.

And comedian Bernie Mac, popular TV-film funnyman who got a little vocally naughty at a recent Obama fundraiser, is seriously ill with pneumonia in a Chicago hospital.

The title of this thread is the link title from Google news. The title of the blog post is: Now, 2 Obama backers, Bernie Mac and Morgan Freeman, hospitalized

These two headlines inject politics into a non political story more bluntly and stupidly than any other headline I can remember. Worst. Headline. Ever.

They could’ve saved some typing and just said that they were ‘black’. We’d have thusly assumed they were Obama backers.

Geez, they can’t let go of their politics even to report regular news. Prayers for both of them.

Regardless of their politics, I really enjoy both their work, especially Morgan Freeman’s. I grew up watching him.

What was Morgan Freeman doing in a 1997 Maxima? The man must have massive coin after what, 20 years of star, or co-star status.

From the little I know - Freeman lives a rather quiet modest life in a small Mississippi town. A couple years ago I heard about him running a bar/restaurant there with an old white friend of his. Politics aside, he seems like a humble man who didn’t forget his roots and doesn’t see color, but instead character, in his relationships.

http://www.wmctv.com/global/story.asp?s=8783679

"Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson Ben Williams said Freeman, 71, and a passenger, Demaris Meyer, were traveling eastbound on Mississippi Highway 32 in Tallahatchie County around 11:30pm when his vehicle went off the edge of the road. Freeman overcorrected, flipping the 1997 Nissan Maxima he was driving several times before coming to a rest.... The AP reported the Maxima belonged to Meyer, a Memphis resident. She was released from the hospital Monday."

I think there is a law that you cannot make a movie in Hollywood unless Morgan Freeman is in it.

Typical in that they have to inject Obama into everything. Can honestly say it does make me disgusted with Morgan Freeman. Wish him well in recovery, but I’m glad I found this out so I know he’s really not respectable after all. Hollyweird has been part of the disease nowadays.

I’m not going to change my views about Freeman just because he supports Obama. Sure, I’d like him to vote conservative, but in the article it mentions that he donated a measly $2300, which considering his money, (I would guess) and star power, is paltry. And I do wish both him and Bernie Mac a speedy recovery. This post was not really about them, though, it was about the all-Obama-all-of-the-time media.

The only appropriate thing do to is to say a prayer for each that they may recover soon.

I enjoy both of their work though I would avoid Bernie Mac's live performances. His television show was exemplary.

What is the maximum that one person can donate to a candidate? I've never understood that aspect of elections.
