“You got it. Don’t mind if some of my future generations of family become more tan in color.”

Me either, but I think it’s a question of degree.

If I go to Japan and spend some time there, sample the cuisine, meet the people and explore the culture, that’s fantastic. That’s diversity, that’s good for different cultures and peoples. If on the other hand I take 50 million people who share my particular ethnic background and DEMAND to stay. Insist on being integrated into their schools, insist on being integrated into their hospitals, insist on being integrated into their workforce, insist on my culture mixing with theirs, insist on being integrated into every aspect of Japanese life.

Well, that’s destructive to everything Japan is both as a people and as a culture. The Japanese might have a problem with me and my 50 million friends, and I wouldn’t blame them. My actions threaten the existence of what they value and hold dear.

We can have a compassionate immigration policy where we welcome the best and the brightest from other countries and people who have filled out all of the necessary paperwork.

But 50 million people in a few decades? It’s insanity.

That’s how I see it anyway.

Unfortunately we don’t seem to have an alternative at least politically speaking.

Sigh.

No your dead on and we agree in almost every way. Not a problem to accept 20 million in ten years either. It is a problem they don’t learn English and don’t pay taxes, just the opposite and act as malinvesment. One giant albatross. We’re broke, some are heading back home and many others leaving soon. Ike new what to do before the damage was done in the 1950’s. We did not move fast enough. It’s always about the money.

Yes! There are two types of diversity: Internal and external. The more you have of one, the less you have of the other. Japan is diverse to all that lies external to it, so it has external diversity. No other nation on earth is like it. If they took in millions of immigrants from the West, from the Muslim world, from Africa, or elsewhere, they’d become more internally diverse but less externally diverse. They’d become more and more like other nations, and less and less like their historical standard. If those other peoples became the majority, the nation would cease in most respects to be Japan and would become something else. They’d occupy the same geographic turf, and might retain some of the trappings here and there of Japan as it once was, but for all intents and purposes they would be a different nation.

All over the Western world, our nations are becoming non-Western. A century from now we will be a completely different nation than we would have been without the demographic transformation.
