Democrats snap up prime parking

(Rest of title)"Critics cry foul after city blocks off meters near party offices for months"

The Democrats don't believe in change, after all -- at least, not if they have to dig it out of their pockets to feed Columbus parking meters.

That has to be illegal. A public asset cannot be sold directly to a group w/o offering it for sale to the general public.

Well see you are wrong here. You are thinking Republican or Boyscouts, or the Christian Coalition or something like that. Then of course it would be illegal to do and the offenders would be placed in jail for even asking to have the parking spaces.
You must not have understood that it was the Democrats that got the spaces.... That of course is just peachy.......

But they’re not elitists. LMAO!
I’m surprised they’re not using taxpayer money, like fueling their fleet or rental vehicles in Denver at city pumps to avoid paying gasoline taxes.

Oh I’m sure they’ve found a way to funnel funds from the taxpayers.

The Columbus Ohio Mayor is a real piece of work. Glenn Beck laid him low enough to keep him out of the Governor’s mansion, but he has his snout deeply buried in the public trough. Good for the local newspaper to blow the whistle on this crap.

The Communists of Russia would close off whole streets when the Politburo bigwigs would have to get across town. Why would the leftist Dims be any different?

First they agitate for freedom from gas taxes, now this...

What a party.

Well, technically, they are - to the extent that others are paying what amounts to a "parking tax", and these Rats are not, they are stealing taxpayer money. It might be only a couple of dollars a day, but it's theft nonetheless.

I think that their cars need to be towed.

I’m not sure I can get upset at this, since they paid for every minute. If I were to go after this, it wouldn’t be for corruption. Instead, I’d get someone who owns a business nearby to complain that not having parking available is hurting his business.

I’d also take pictures of all the spaces empty, and post that to show that the democrats can’t get people to visit them even with free parking. Or to complain that the democrats have taken away parking spaces for other people when they didn’t need them.

Or note that they paid $7000 for spaces they aren’t using, showing that democrats just want to spend your money on wasteful things.

But it doesn’t look like a “special deal”.

I can imagine that this would be getting the residents a little worked up! Parking in some areas of Columbus is very difficult. Too far away to get photos but oh how I’d love to have 45 mintues alone in that lot with a hammer. Oppppsss did I say that out loud, just kidding!

Three of the dying-est cities in the US are in Ohio: Cleveland, Cincinnati and Youngstown. I guess business in Columbus is so good that folks need not worry. Or that folks moving here just enough to be able to vote this Nov. and skew the election can afford higher parking fees and spaces farther away.

A friend lives in down town Denver... every time I hear from her she complains about the beat down known as the bleeding hearts... she’s planning on getting out of dodge before the “do-gooders” descend upon the city.
