"Audacity of Arrogance" applies to both of our U.S. Senators, but for opposite reasons.
John Hopkins cites Barack Obama's inexperience as justification for that apt description. In Sen. Richard Durbin's case, he feels so entrenched in his position (Senate Majority Whip) that he is untouchable. Consider the following examples of his arrogant behavior that have been unsupportive and unresponsive to the needs of the country and of the State of Illinois.
The medical community in the state of Illinois has been decimated by the abuse of medical malpractice litigation, especially with the loss of at least 170 physicians from Madison and St. Clair counties, and yet Durbin led the attack against federal medical malpractice reform on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
More than 4,000 young men and women have bravely sacrificed their lives and tens of thousands have been mutilated in the War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, and yet Durbin, in reference to an egregious, but isolated act of inhumane treatment of prisoners of war, compared our military heroes, in general, to the Nazis of the stalags, the guards of the Gulag Archipelago, and the monster Pol Pot.
Our nation's economy and our individual pocketbooks are beset by present gasoline prices. Most senators favor lifting the Congressional ban on off-shore drilling, and yet Durbin had to have participated in the decision to go on vacation and not to allow the issue to come to a vote in Congress, in order to appease irrational environmentalism.
Steve Sauerberg (R-Lombard), Senator Durbin's opponent, has little name recognition in this area, but offers a very appealing alternative to this arrogant politico.
As voters scrutinize Obama, they should also evaluate Durbin more carefully. Dr. Sauerberg's position will improve if they do, even though some medical organizations are afraid to oppose the Majority Whip. He is arrogant and must feel very proud.
However, he should remember that pride cometh before the fall. Just ask Tom Daschle!
I dare Freepers from other states to claim they have a worse trio of asswipes in the 3 big offices than, Bama, Turban and Blago.
I can quickly name three states and all 3 each have a stinking RINO. Iowa’s RINO Grassley, Minnesota’s RINO Coleman and Voinobitch .. Ohio’s RINO crier. The guvs of those three states are also dirtbags although Strickland of Ohio hasn’t a prayer of enacting his more radical communist ideas. and after the dirtbag RINO Taft ... Strickland is even a breath of air ...(not fresh)
Actually it is easier to name the only 4 or 5 real conservative senators we have. Maybe a dozen worthwhile congresscritters. Mainly, none of them really have the qualification to be dog catcher.
Lock and load them all
I’ll see your Bama, Turban and Blago with one Clueless Jenny, one Karl Lenin, one (she’s hardly L’il) Debbie Stabemall and raise you a pair of John and Moronica Conyers and three Klueless Kilpatricks. You win, when can you get them the hell out of Michigan?
I’ve got you beat. I’m from Massachusetts. We have Devil Patrick, Mark Spitz and Audie Murphy. New Jersey will give you a run for your money too!

Term LImits. NO ONE, should be allowed to hold the same elected political position for more then 8 years, PERIOD.
Not a President, a Senator, a Congressional Representative, a Governor etc.
No Judical elected person should be able to hold the same Judial office more then 8 years and NO APPOINTED Judicial person including Supreme Court Justices shold be allowed to hold the same position for more then 10 years.
If this one situaion became the law of the land this Nation would begin recovering overnight....

I’ll take that dare.
Fast Eddie Rendell
Invisible Man Bob Casey
Mr Lawyer. Arlen Spector.
Plus we have the additional dishonor of having John Murtha..
Oh and I suggest California not be allowed in the competion as they are Pros and have been fully Socialist for many many years....
Thanks for the shout out!
The claim of Minnesota is laughingly rejected. Only 1 D
The claim of Iowa is rejected. (Iowa freepers I’ve talked too like Grassley) Governor Whosit isn’t famous for incompetence yet.
The claim of Pennsylvania is noted but rejected.
The claim of Ohio is noted but rejected.
The claim of Pennsylvania is noted but rejected.
The claim of Kali-Fornia is noted. Nancy Pelosi Version 1.1 (Boxer) is noted. But no.
Basically if there is an R unless it’s a Taft/George Ryan it doesn’t make the cut.
The claim of Michigan is considered, I don’t follow those 3 as much as a Michigander would but I’d swap mine for them. Yes I know the state Michigan is in.
The claim of New Jersey is considered. Strongly. But still no.
The claim of Massachusetts is...granted. I wouldn’t trade for Lurch, Liver Spot and Obamagovernor.
Congratulations HenpeckedCon. You win. Or rather you lose. :(
Thanks for making my day. We win!! Yeah!
