Had the Edwards thing come about, it might have served as a reminder of the whole sordid Clinton Presidency and Hills' enabling of her scumbag hubby. More people might have flocked to Obama who they would perceive as a "clean fresh start"

This whole thing is pretty impressive for the National Inquirer.
The Clintons are some of the most powerful people in the country. If they want you down... you’re going down. We know full well that Clinton had her people out there trying to dig up dirt on every one of her opponents.

I’m not sure about this. My impression is that the Breck Girl’s base was the anti-war vote. If they didn’t have Hillary, I suspect a lot of them would have defaulted to Bambi.
