Leach, Chafee start Republicans for Obama By Walter Alarkon Posted: 08/12/08 01:48 PM [ET]
Former Republican Rep. Jim Leach (Iowa) and former GOP Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R.I.) touted Barack Obama as the presidential candidate who represents the traditional conservatism that they feel has been forgotten under President Bush.
In an Obama campaign conference call Tuesday, during which Leach announced his endorsement of Sen. Obama (D-Ill.), the two former lawmakers tied presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) to Bushs positions, particularly on the war in Iraq and spending.

I thought Chafee alread left the Republican Party awhile ago...... not that he was every anything but the most liberal kind of RINO, but he hasn’t even been a R. in name for awhile now.

Even Democrats acknowledge that Obama is to the left. If it wasn’t for people like Chafee, we wouldn’t have the name RINO.

Barry Soetero wouldn’t know traditional conservatism if it swam up a creek and bit on his cheek - but then neither would Linc Chafee.

Bitter drama queen has-beens, desperately trying to get noticed.
If this fails, Chafee is going to start wearing ass-less pants.

I wonder if we could generate 20 million checks for a penny each?
How much would it cost to process them and record each contribution for the FEC?

Can you please name me one traditional conservative issue that Obama touts?
This reminds me of the liberals I run into who claim that what they believe is in line with the founding fathers. I always reply you mean the people that believed in limited government? Some Freeper told me they have a name, liberalatarians. Fummy...

Tell me again folks, how great it is to have people like this in the Republican Party. You let them hang around long enough and they either side with the Democrats, or win the nomination to represent the party for the Presidency.
If the RNC would get off it’s duff and support Conservatives, this stuff wouldn’t be taking place.
