Mr. Hamdan, We're Ready For Your Closeup [George Clooney’s production company has just purchased]
CBS ^

Mr. Hamdan, We're Ready For Your Closeup Aug. 17, 2008(CBS) Attorney Andrew Cohen analyzes legal issues for CBS News and CBSNews.com.Of course George Clooney’s production company has just purchased the rights to a book written about Salim Hamdan, the most famous mechanic and driver in the history of the world.

The sensitive star knows a good story when he sees one, and Hamdan’s story (the final chapters of which have yet to be written) over the past six years surely ranks as one of the best of the decade.

Hamdan drove Osama bin Laden for a while (imaging having that passenger in the back seat looking over your shoulder), and two weeks ago the Yemeni national was convicted and sentenced for it.

The conduct and results of the trial now will be reviewed by our civilian courts in a process that could take years and yet another ruling from the United States Supreme Court. By that time, Hamdan could be free, or still in custody, or Lord knows what else.

Isn’t Mr. Clooney a consultant for Obama’s campaign?

Birds of a feather...

You know, a quite conservative story could be made about this case.

It won’t be, of course.

I pretty much see this as a comedy all the way. You’ve got a guy who graduated the 4th grade. He simply lucked out one day to be simply a driver of some guy who actually paid a salary. The Taliban episode kicks off....he’s standing at the wrong place and wrong time...and taken prisoner. He then sits around Gitmo for almost five years....and when they finally get him into court...the best that the judges can decide is that “yes, he’s guilty of being a driver for Ossama”. He spent five years in Gitmo....mostly watching videos....and sitting around watching American law played out. The end of this movie is some 4th grade graduate who gets off a plane in Yemen...and weighs forty pounds more than he did when he started at Gitmo. Its all a comedy...and because of Clooney’s deal....I’m guessing Hamdan gets a easy $250k which he can spend on a fleet of Taxis in Yemen. He would have never made the $250k working for Ossama....and thats really the humor in this whole story.

It's truly amazing how these Left-wing fools gravitate to the enemies of this country. They are mentally deranged. We have no shortage of useful idiots and their money.

Clooney is just another Hollywood college dropout that knows more than any of the rest of us.

FYI...

Jamie Gorelick is a senior partner in the Law Firm Wilmer Hale.

Jamie Gorelick, erected the Gorelick Wall which lead in large part to the 911 Attacks— it prevented the CIA/FBI from trading intel on terrorist groups. President WJClinton had it put into place to prevent detection of Clinton Admin foreign campaign donations.

Jamie Gorelick/Wilmer Hale are major defense attorneys for Gitmo detainees. They often brag about their work defending Gitmo detainees, in internal memos distributed to employees. Employees who live in NYC lost friends and family on 911.

Jamie Gorelick profited from her ability to allow 911...by securing a job with Wilmer Hale AFTER her Gorelick Wall work..and she now profits, by defending the 911 attacker sympathizers.

Enough to make you want to puke.

And she is being touted as Obama’s AG.

The very person who set us up and allowed us to be hit on 9/11 may be responsible for prosecutions in the war on terror.
Obama must be stopped.

Gorelick has to be one of the top 10 traitors to the US in the last century. The fact that she can make money and have any standing in this country is a most bewildering and frightening development.

FYI-—

Perhaps some of you may not remember what Fannie Mae was caught doing after a whistleblower exposed the fraud (and was fired in retaliation). It was obvious that the books at Fannie Mae were being cooked:

The magnitude of Fannie’s machinations is stunning, and in two key areas in particular they deserve to be better understood. By improperly delaying the recognition of income, it created a cookie jar of reserves. And by improperly classifying certain derivatives, it was able to spread out losses over many years instead of recognizing them immediately.

In the cookie-jar ploy, Fannie set aside an artificially large cash reserve. And — presto — in any quarter its managers could reach into that jar to compensate for poor results or add to it to dampen good ones. This ploy, according to Ofheo (Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight), gave Fannie “inordinate flexibility” in reporting the amount of income or expenses over reporting periods.

This flexibility also gave Fannie the ability to manipulate earnings to hit — within pennies — target numbers for executive bonuses. Ofheo details an example from 1998, the year the Russian financial crisis sent interest rates tumbling. Lower rates caused a lot of mortgage holders to prepay their existing home mortgages. And Fannie was suddenly facing an estimated expense of $400 million.

Well, in its wisdom, Fannie decided to recognize only $200 million [of losses], deferring the other half. That allowed Fannie’s executives — whose bonus plan is linked to earnings-per-share — to meet the target for maximum bonus payouts. The target EPS for maximum payout was $3.23 and Fannie reported exactly . . . $3.2309. This bull’s-eye was worth $1.932 million to then-CEO James Johnson, $1.19 million to then-CEO-designate Franklin Raines, and $779,625 to then-Vice Chairman Jamie Gorelick.

As for other losses, they were routinely mischaracterized so that they could be amortized over years, not realized fully as they were supposed to be. By this method, the Fannie Mae management siphoned off millions of dollars in excess compensation to top management, including Gorelick.

We conservatives need to target and politically neutralize as many of the Obama backers as we can, before he gets elected. Gorelick is genuinely dangerous and if he has any illusions of adding him to his cabinet, she has to be rendered persona non grata by the American people. He needs to be questioned in public about these people. “Senator Obama, how do you come down on the establishment of the Gorelick wall, established to prevent intelligence sharing between FBI and CIA.” “Senator Obama, will you employ people in your administration who have engaged in the active defense of Al Qaeda operatives and detainees.” Things like that.

Start the meme now, Barack Obama’s choice for AG, defended Al Qaeda detainees...start now, start often, email your friends and families.

There is a long list of elite (scumbag) law firms that work the Wash-NYC-Boston corridor who did pro bono work in Cuba for Al Qaeda

Yup. I for one know for a fact that Wilmer Hale was one of them.

To these attorneys it is just a game. To us it is life or death.
