McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis asked Sunday for a meeting with Steve Capus, the president of NBC News, to protest what the campaign called signs that the network is "abandoning non-partisan coverage of the Presidential race."
Davis made the request Sunday in a letter that is part of an aggressive effort by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to counter news coverage he considers critical.
Politico has asked NBC for a response and will post that here when it arrives.

Ouch. Maybe he should send a letter to Politico too.
someone needs to put Mitchell in a cone of silence...one that we cannot hear her anymore.
2. Forming or having the nature of a turning point; crucial or decisive.
I hope by use of the word "critical" they mean both definitions.
Some of politico’s writers cannot get off their kneepads for Obama and it is getting worse.
I’m glad he is saying something - he can’t just sit there and take it. It’s a valid complaint.
I remember when I was in high school they taught us about communist propaganda.
NBC = Pravda.
There really isn’t much difference between what is going on today with our extremist liberal media and what used to happen in the former Soviet Union with their communist propaganda.
Indeed, instead of taking a critical journalistic approach to this spin, Andrea Mitchell did what has become a pattern for her of simply repeating Obama campaign talking points.
This is irresponsible journalism and sadly, indicative of the level of objectivity we have witnessed at NBC News this election cycle. Instead of examining the Obama campaign's spin for truth before reporting it to more than 3 million NBC News viewers, Andrea Mitchell simply passed along Obama campaign conspiracy theories. The fact is that during Senator Obama's segment at Saddleback last night, Senator McCain was in a motorcade to the event and then held in a green room with no broadcast feed. In the forum, John McCain clearly demonstrated to the American people that he is prepared to be our next President.....
We are concerned that your News Division is following MSNBC's lead in abandoning non-partisan coverage of the Presidential race. We would like to request a meeting with you as soon as possible to discuss our deep concerns about the news standards and level of objectivity at NBC.
Andrea Mitchell did the same thing to McCain when Obama snubbed the wounded warriors at Landstuhl.
I think this is a bad move.
McCain’s been on a roll nailing Obama to the wall.
Fighting with the press does nothing.
They’re not going to change their spots.
McCain isn’t running against the press.
just think,
the great economist
alan greenspan sleeps with her!
one thing about McCain that we can all like...he’s no mamby pamby George Sr or George Jr....he’s a bulldog and I like it...
McCain shouldn’t fight with the press.
He needs to keep the heat on Obama.
For months, Bill O’Reilly on Fox (I know) has been beating up on NBC for their partisanship. It’s true, and it’s shameful. You would think that given who her husband is, Andrea Mitchell would be more careful to try to remain neutral. Guess she just can’t control her Obamamania.
Oh good grief.
Does McCain’s campaign not know that the MSM are political organizations? Hire only Dem political hacks, and WORK for the DNC?
Why should they be professional?
They want to win!
lying down and taking it has done so much for the Republicans?...I think not....
Greenspab is a Demoncrat.
He has always been a registered Demoncrat.
He’s policies have gotten us into this mess.
I’m just saying the Press is not going to change no matter what McCain does.
McCain isn’t running againt the Press.
He’s running against Obama and he needs to keep his attention on him.
Good grief!
Is Rick just realizing THIS?
Where has this boy been?
It’s normal MSM behavior to parrot Democrat talking points and inject unsubstantiated rumors into the news cycle. Don’t know that anyone could be surprised, but it’s still good to call out the scumbags on their bias. MSNBC is so much worse, but NBC is bad enough.
