If you follow the link to Greeley’s complete article, there are comments there from readers. While there are some comments left by syncopants, quite a few readers are ripping Greeley a new one. It’s quite

There's something about the American flag that drives liberals loonier than usual.
Yep. The same thing would probably happen if you sprinkled "Father" Greely with holy water.
It's funny to me how these anti-Catholic so-called priests never lack for a pulpit from which to make the Church look bad.

Proud to be a “Cracker” but Florida Crackers would tell you the term came from the early cowboys in the state also cracking their whips herding the cattle. Born and raised Florida Cracker and I can handle a 16 foot bull whip also. I've never heard of a Georgia Cracker, oh sorry I have but they came in a box and you ate them. I love the South.

folks who want Cardinal George to get rid of Father Pfleger,
Pfleger and Greely should leave the Catholic Church and become Anglicans. In doing so, they'd raise the average morality of both.

“If we chant “USA!” Often enough, sing God “Bless American!” fervently enough, wear flag pins, fly the flag in front of our house and croak the national anthem loudly enough, we will win victory and honor our dead heroes.”
Yeah, that’s right. Why not try it some time. Try singing “God Bless America” FERVENTLY. Try meaning what you sing. You might find yourself strangely moved.

There is also a Cracker horse from Florida. Supposed to be very good natured. Makes sense that the term cracker would go with the whip regardless of the vocation, cowboy or teamster. Bet a lot of cowboys switched to wagon drivers as they got older. Still working with horses but a wider seat.
My Georgia Bulldogs will be doing some “cracking” in Florida this year too!

Greeley never really liked Pope John Paul II, and he is certainly not a fan of Pope Benedict XVI. Greeley thinks they are both “Too Catholic”.

"Keep talking Greely. Is this the Catholic priest posing as a journalist?"No, it's a deranged old liver-spot masquerading as a "Catholic" priest, posing as a journalist.

When’s the next Crosstown Classic?
Things can happen underneath the viaduct on 35th Street. It’s like the Roach Motel; Cubs fans check in, but they never check out.

Father Greeley is like the loudmouthed drunk who after getting thrown out of the bar for the nth time keeps returning to babble some more inanities.
