Oh man. I grew up watching this guy. IIRC, Haystack died a long time ago.

May they rest in peace.

My question too. Killer Kowalski and Haystack Calhoun, ah the memories. RIP, big guy.

I don't seem to remember Kowalski.

But that haystack guy always skeered the heloutame.

Wikipedia says he was a "gargantuan hillbilly"
now there's something you want to be remembered for...
May the lord rest them both in peace.

Was it not Pepper Gomez who beat the Killer?

Kowalski made “the sleeper hold” famous. I liked that guy. If I remember correctly, Calhoun had a muleshoe on the end of that chain.

I said it was the “sleeper hold” but you’re right. It was the Claw hold. I couldn’t remember what they called it. Thanks!

"The Man with the Cast Iron Stomach". One of the good guys.

After his first bout with Kowalski, he said of the "Claw Hold", "he was tickling me!!!"

Ahhh...the memories....

CA....

The ‘sleeper’ was originally made famous by former champion Lou Thesz.
