Our son went to school on NROTC. He just left for his first underway to the Persian Gulf. I think the military is tough, but it is a good way for boys to become men. Oh, and he got married in June to a lovely gal. Both are Christian and churchgoers, don’t get me wrong-they party, too. V’s wife.

Those bitches have taken over, says Patrick. "Theyre everywhere. You know that ad 'its everywhere you want to be.' Thats like women. Theyre everywhere they want to be! Theres nowhere you can go anymore factories, beer joints, military, even the goddamned firehouse! [Raucous agreement all around.] We working guys are just f------.Guyland is what you get when feminism teaches that men should be like women and women should be like men. Women are so bad at being men that men end up wanting only their immages in sexually submissive postures and clothing. Men retreat from the society, i.e. the hyper p.c. business world, that denudes their masculinity. Then if you marry a woman with a feminist streak - how do you avoid it these days - your done for good.
I must confess - I miss Guyland.

Thanks for posting, I never would have caught this otherwise. OBTW my nephew didn’t get a real job and move out his parents’ basement until 1. his live-in (in his parent’s basement, no less) girlfriend left him 2. his glorified garage band fell apart 3. he took the hint that he was developing the reputation of ‘loser.’ His parents didn’t believe in applying ‘discipline.’ His mom: “I’m going to count to three!! One .....two......two and a half.....”
Hopefully, he who this year will be 30 won’t be a loser wuss all his life. Oh, and he’s a HUGE Obama supporter. Wuss.

And the problem is similar with women.
When I was in college, I was honestly shocked how immature many of my classmates were. But I had to “grow up” at age 13 and many of these guys haven’t yet at age 32.
My sister’s boyfriend is my age, and still lives like he is in college.

Many men are figuring out that college doesn't gain you much. If you spend 5 years getting told how bad you are, why stay?
And the trades are paying very well right now. I am an engineer, and my brother in law is an electrician. He will make more money than I will in the end.

In college, they party hard but are soft on studying. They slip through the academic cracks, another face in a large lecture hall, getting by with little effort and less commitment. After graduation, they drift aimlessly from one dead-end job to anotherSay what???

Whenever my son wanted money I gave him a chore to do so that he earned a wage, he will be writing his doctoral thesis in chemical engineering by this time next year. The only real advice I ever gave him was this, the measure of a man lies in what he is willing to sacrifice for his family and not in how much he can drink or how many woman he could bed and certainly not in how much he could drink. He didn't always listen, and many times argued, but in the end the truth of my words prevailed. As a parent it was hard to make the tough decisions and to do the right thing, as I argued with myself and was often tempted to do what would have made me feel good and would have hurt him in the long run. A liberal never learns that lesson.

The "ME" generation would grow up faster if the parents would stop paying for everything.
Exactly
Pay for their college where all they do is screw and drink for 4 years and when they do pay attention in class get brainwashed with left wing drivel

i would have to hazard a guess that these guys come mostly from the city as guys from here in the boondocks grow up with chores etc and for the most part have a better study/work ethic to get ahead.

Just like the guy in “Knocked up”. So what does he do? He gets lucky with an insecure career woman and gets the puck across the line.

For those 35% of the men at colleges, they have their pick of babes so why should they settle on one when there’s a harem to chooswe from? ;)
