There were studies published on this back in the 90s. Back then, they used Bill Clinton as an example.

The same could be said for females.
They are girls not women.

Meanwhile, women in the United States make up the majority of law school, medical school and graduate schools classes. Women even out number men on college campuses nationwide.

This is the end result of feminism.

Denigrate men. Remove funding for teaching boys. Remove sports for boys in high school/college due to Title X.

In elementary schools, an ever increasing amount of boys are medicated with ADD drugs by the request of female teachers. No one I knew growing up in the 1970’s was ADD or took drugs to control their behaviour.

In every TV show/commercial today, the man portrayed as stupid, lazy, etc while the woman is the hero.

No wonder men don’t grow up these days.

Guys would grow up faster if women demanded it. Back when girls expected boys to marry and support them, 16 year old boys were working like men and preparing to raise a family. Now they are hanging out and waiting for the college parties and sluts.

Amusingly, the term “marriage strike” is nowhere to be found, I wonder if it’s acknowledged in the book either.

Starting in early teens: Boy Scouts, then Jr ROTC, then real ROTC, then military service. That will grow ‘em up right. And, Mom and Dad? If Junior wants a car, tell him to get a job and pay for it. (Admittedly this is far, far more difficult to do than just a few years ago.)

In my neighborhood, its simply impossible to find a teenager willing to make $30/hour helping me with odd jobs around my house.

Where's your neighborhood? For $30 an hour, I'll be right over to help with those odd jobs.

Who cares about what losers do? And if losers’ parents want to indulge them, it’s no business of mine.

There’s certainly no reason to worry about business or science or national defense. If you’re offering a fast-track private sector entry-level job (my perspective), or a seat in a prestigious graduate program, or a second lieutenant’s bars or special agent’s badge, you are positively deluged with young applicants: each one more ambitious, intelligent and focused than the last.

Now one thing certainly is true: 60% or 70% of those applicants are recent immigrants or the children of only somewhat less recent immigrants. Anyone who really fears the onslaught of beer-drinking, skirt-chasing 20-somethings ought to be lobbying to make sure that anything we do to reform immigration doesn’t cut off the flow of the kind of immigrants who are creating my applicant class.

So young men are acting like girls? I thought that’s what the PC crowd wanted?

The “sissification” of the public school curriculum doesn't help either.

Math & science are “too hard” and might impact the GPA, so more are going after sports medicine, psychology, and other limited income potential fields. (ya, some make money, but the percentages are lousy)

Girls live in Guyland, but they do not define it. They contend with it and make their peace with it, each in their own way.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I agree!

In the seventies I matriculated in a highly competitive graduate school for a health profession. I was one of 14 women in a school of 600 men-children. Wow! Talk about “guyland”! I did graduate but it was definitely a unique and unforgettable experience dealing with so many “men-kids”.

Thankfully, I did find a wonderful husband ( not from “Guyland” or my graduate school). We have been married 26 years and have 4 delightful adult children who are strong in the gospel. I took 8 years off from my profession to homeschool these children. We are grandparents to 10 beautiful grandchildren.

My husband's sister called just last week. She asked if her 19 year old son, who is the quintessential “man-child” living in Guyland, could come to live with us. Ten years ago my husband had advised her to take her son out of government school and homeschool him. She didn't take his advice then and now wants us to correct the problem she and her husband created. Are we going to do this? No way! The damage can not be undone at this point short of a religious conversion.

If kids are socialized by other kids they will learn to be kids! One of the best ways to do that is to institutionalize you child along with other same aged kids in a government holding pen ( misnamed public “schools”).

If you want your child to grow up to be an adult the best way to do that is to socialize him in the company of adults! Homeschooling is a great way to do that.

Many of these young men grew up as children of divorce without their natural fathers in the home. With no positive role model around, they turn to the media to learn how to behave. Add to that the easy availability of sex with no strings attched, government support of any children they sire (as long as they DON’T get married), and the cycle continues.

If I were a young woman today, those would be the professions I would avoid.

Follow the men. That is where the money and opportunities are.

i would have to hazard a guess that these guys come mostly from the city as guys from here in the boondocks grow up with chores etc and for the most part have a better study/work ethic to get ahead.

“marriage strike”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Why would men want to marry?

The women can divorce a husband on a whim ( often with the wife’s mother egging her on), take the kids, and have guaranteed child support for 18 or more years. The man gets a puny every other weekend with his kids and almost no influence on how they will turn out.

Sounds like the perfect formula for a seriously broken heart.

amen. i raised 2 boys and made sure that both of them knew that i intended to “break their plate” as soon as they graduated from high school if they were not involved in and making decent grades in higher education. They are both in their 40s now and i am very proud of how both of them. Since becoming adults, they have never had to ask for help.
