Would you be interested in a retired senior with 40+ yrs. experience working with his hands (last 12 yrs. outdoors)?
That and the fact that throughout school the PC teachers continue to imply that men have so many faults, whereas women are superior and victims. And our young males are being forced to become feminized in so many ways.
A boy would be most fortunate to be born of Free Republic parents!
65% female.
A male can get laid pretty easily in this environment, hence few reasons to excel.
This isn’t the first time in history that this has happened.
If you lived in our area you’d have my 15 YO son stuck to you like glue. He goes around the neighborhood asking for work. He’ll pull T-posts, mow, move and burn your brush pile, paint your house, or buck your hay bales.
And he’s willing to haggle over price. (He’s happy with $10 an hour.)
bump for later
oh, won't somebody rescue them. /barf
2. Schools and academia have focused on women for so long, that young men have fallen through the cracks.
3. Someone who is aimless in their 20s usually comes to a crossroads sometime in their early-mid 30s, as to whether or not to be an unhappy drifter living paycheck to paycheck, or someone who decided to grab the bull by the horns and have a plan toward success and stability.
Oh, and I would like to comment on this quote:
But there is just no way an honest white guy can make a living in this economy not with these Bush fat cats and all the illegals.
I hear sh-t like this from schlepp class white guys all the time. I tell them that they should learn a trade (there is a huge demand for machinists, both here and abroad, and the expatriate lifestyle is great), or spend the rest of their lives bitter and angry. Unfortunately, just as minorities of the similar social class b-tch about "white boys", so to do white sclubs blame alot of their lot in life on minorities and immigrants "gettin' everything." Stop being a whiny little b-tch and grow up!
Full disclosure: I spent alot of my 20s working or in grad school without being focused on goals. I had originally intended to be an academic, but after growing disenchanted with that lifestyle, went into the private sector. Although I don't regret my career choices, I acted rashly and immaturely, spending like there is no tomorrow and not having any real plans for the future.
Thankfully, my 30s came along, and I found myself surrounded by folks who had their sh-t together. It was then that I truly came to the conclusion that I needed to grow up or shut up. Being dependent on others and hoping that better things will just "come along" is a sorry substitute for actually planning and GETTING THINGS DONE.
LOL! I have an 18 month old and one due in November, and it's feeling like a looooooong 18 years ahead of us! :P
Our two are 2 years 4 months apart and they have been a joy and a headache. Enjoy their young, sweet, cute years they go by really fast. Blessings to your family.
Aw, thank you. My little girl gets cuter by the day it seems. :)
