Pro-choice GOP women praise pro-life Palin

Sunday, August 31, 2008

MINNEAPOLIS | Pro-choice Republican women, including one of their movement's best-known leaders, have embraced the strongly pro-life Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as Sen. John McCain's choice for running mate.

Somewhat surprisingly, Mrs. Palin has elicited enthusiasm not only from pro-choice Republican groups, but from many rank-and-file pro-choice Republican women.

Ann Stone, who founded Republicans for Choice in 1989 and has led it ever since, told The Washington Times that in picking Mrs. Palin, Mr. McCain did what he needed to do to make the Republican National Convention a success because Mrs. Palin will help the GOP ticket with pro-choice women.

"He did it on Friday. He picked a non-Washington fresh face, a woman who is totally out of the box," Mrs. Stone said. "She breaks all kinds of stereotypes - if Republicans can overcome the lies that the Democrats are already spreading about her."

"Do you think I have lost my mind to be excited over someone so anti-choice?" Mrs. Stone said. "Well, if Sarah Palin breaks through, it is great for all women. And the Democrats in the Senate will have to protect Roe vs. Wade, in spite of it all."

She was referring to the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide and that abortion-rights advocates fear will be overturned by a more pro-life Supreme Court.

Pro-choice GOP women may not be an oxymoron, but its seems moronic to me.

The Daily Kos is really taking it as a fact that Palin’s son is actually her teenage daughter’s son, based on the fact that her daughter was absent from school for 5-8 months before the birth and that Palin announced her pregnancy 7 months after conception:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/30/121350/137/486/580223

We shouldn’t sleep on this story. Look at the Edwards’ scandal story. I didn’t believe it. Very few believed it, and look what happened. I know Daily Kos is a kooky left-wing site, but the National Enquirer did not have exactly a good reputation either. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

A teenage girl giving birth to a Down syndrome baby? I've literally never heard of it happening. It's most typically women in their mid-forties. The standard theory as to why this is the case is that spontaneous abortion doesn't occur as readily late in life. In effect, the body figures this might be the last chance, and isn't as picky over which xygotes it allows to develop.

“Daily Kos,” whatever his stupid name is, is a psychopath. What does he think this is, 1922? Every sensible, pro-life family is prepared to deal with a daughter’s unexpected pregnancy. Can she marry the father with any chance of its working out well? Will the child be placed for adoption? Is our family in a position to bring up a grandchild?

Having a 44-year-old lady pretend she’s pregnant just isn’t on the radar for anyone but crazies.

Its a BS story from the get go, Kos and DU are nuts as usual. Its extremely unlikely for a teenager to have a Downs syndrome baby. Also, how in the eff could Sarah Palin get away with it with her contstant exposure to the public? Its not like pregnancy in the late stages is easy to hide so countless people are going to go....hey...I don’t remember her showing pregnancy what is she doing claiming she had the baby. Then the doctors and hospital staff would have to be in on it, all the record keepers.....

The story is so ridiculous they might as well claim its a UFO baby, that would have about as much credibility. Let the psychotic run with it.....into a wall.

"She breaks all kinds of stereotypes - if Republicans can overcome the lies that the Democrats are already spreading about her.""

THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN SHOULD GET A COMMERCIAL OUT DEFINING SARAH, BEFORE THE LIES OF THE LEFT STICK AND DEFINE HER FOR FIRST!!!!!!!

Obviously, they've been watching, "Desperate Housewives."

They seem to be confusing her with the character, "Bree(sp?)," who did exactly what they accuse Sarha Palin of. Hint to democrats who seem to confuse things and have great difficulty telling the difference between reality and fantasy...it's only a TV show! : )

Oh, is that it? I've never seen it. I thought maybe Kos had a taste for old Gothic novels.

You know what is so crazy about the conspiracy theory nuts....they just don’t realize its like stepping on a wet tarp at the top of a hill. Once you go down that road you just can’t stop until you crash into reality.

Even if the baby really belonged to the daughter and her mother helped cover it up, SO WHAT? It was an honorable thing to do.

I see the National Media has changed their tactic into one of a day of “soft” hit pieces.

Rading the article it seems to be one more justifying abortion than focusing on Sarah Palin having support from GOP Pro-choice women.

Does it escape the left that no sitting or presumptive nominee, regardless of which party, can do away with Roe vs Wade? As poor a ruling as it is, only the Supreme Court or the Legislature could ever do away with it, not a Vice president.

And, her selection will “force Hillary to support Obama?” Oh Brother!

Actually the vast majority of down’s babies are born to women under the age of 35. Being 40+ does tremendously increase the risk of giving birth to one, but because so few women over age 40 and age 35 have children, the down’s babies are still concentrated among women under age 35.

I DO hope McCain’s people asked if she had any skeletons in her closet. And that she answered truthfully.

But I know what you mean.
