ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

People, this is a major plus.

Palin will now tour around and talk about the mother’s perspective on the problems of society and for the first time ever, she can bring that to the vice presidency.

Forget the moonbats. They Don’t Matter. Their votes were never available. It’s the moderate independent women whose votes can be peeled off by a woman if she stays away from extremist rhetoric.

She doesn’t need to wave her arms in the air and talk about how Jesus tells her not to have abortions. She can stand up and say exactly what she has — that they will daughter their daughter and grandchild and encourage the young couple, just like millions of other mothers have done before.

That is the path to victory.

I hope you’re right, but I don’t share your confidence. It’s very odd that they didn’t mention this in passing right at the beginning. Did they think it would somehow go unnoticed?

McCain has issued a statement saying he knew about it before he chose Palin, he considered it a private family matter, and he doesn’t think it makes a difference.

I DO think it makes a difference.

It underscores again that Palin is a regular lady from a regular family. She fishes, shoots, runs kids to school, worries over dating teens, and even has to deal with family crises.

And she’s governor of a state.

And she’s pro-life, and they’re not trying to kill a baby to make a problem go away. The abortion movement got off the ground in my era because we used to treat young girls who got carried away with their boyfriends as the worst creatures on the face of the earth. Because of how they were treated, they went looking desperately for a solution....and they came up with abortion.

You know the old arguments that they will bring out. Underage daughter didn’t listen to her, how would she get anyone else to do so. Didn’t abstain. Yah de yah de yah. Blah blah blah.

How many children in the history of the United States have been produced under the same circumstances?

More than you can count is correct. The West is in demographic suicide mode now because so many are convinced that this sort of thing isn't just a natural part of life and it should be fixed by killing the unborn child for convenience.

I hate to say that I agree with you. We need to not be so naive that we think this is a plus for Palin or McCain.

I am not going to post what I know where they will go with this, but if you think about it, it will not be pleasant.

I find it hard to believe McCain knew about this. If he did...well....good luck.

I am not casting any stones to Palin and her family. I have a son who is an unwed Dad too. Only thing is, not too many care what we do.

“So?”

Exactly. The hypocrisy of the left absolutely floors me! They parade around their non-judgmental, tolerant wonderfulness, unless of course it involves one of the 3 C’s. Christian, Causcasian, Conservative.

Steams my shorts.

My thoughts, prayers and support are with the entire Palin family.

in today’s age of hyper sexuality this is no surprise....young hormones have a mind of their own sometimes regardless of the parent's intent.

at least this baby will have a life, not murdered as an inconvenience like the left enjoys

the media will yap about how “now how will Evangelicals feel about Sarah Palin and her pregnant unwed daughter”....but the media has no clue that what Christians will judge more is what do the Palins do now?

and it appears they will do the right thing....

I will bet that far more babies reach full term in the womb of unmarried pregnant Christian daughters then they do the same in unbelievers.

that concern is what matters to non apostate Christians

No, it's not nonsense. IF TRUE, it's going to be used endlessly to bash socons as hypocrites,

NONSENSE. It could only be used to bash socons as hypocrites if Bristol Palin HAD AN ABORTION. The fact she is keeping the child and marrying its fathers reinforces Palin's pro-life views.

Good Lord, the self-righteous are out in force today!

I can see that line, but also I can bet they will start talking about Palin “forcing” Bristol to keep the baby and get married. That she didn't or wouldn't “allow” her daughter to choose. She is ruining her daughters life. I can here it now. They are going to tear this apart like a pack of wild dogs being tossed fresh meat.

On the flip side I thought I saw a picture early this morning of Bristol holding Trig. Someone noted a “ring on her finger.”

Lastly, these things happen. Barack himself was an accident for Stanly Ann. Even a family member here who was planning their wedding...turned up pregnant before the wedding.

Helluva job vetting there, McCain. LOL

One moment people are praising her family and family values, then her 17 year old turns up unmarried and pregnant.

People are so naive.

Will Barry issue a press release encouraging an abortion so Sarah’s daughter is not “punished with a baby”?

Yep. My co-worker just became a grandma. Her 18 year old son had sex for the first time, and got the girl pregnant. Her son and the mother are now raising the baby together.
