Former State GOP Chairman Forms Group To Support Democrat
PORTLAND, Maine -- Maine's Sen. Barack Obama campaign has announced the formation of a group calling itself "Maine Republicans for Obama."
The group is headed by former Maine Republican Party Chairman Robert Monks and former Republican state Rep. Sherry Huber. At a press conference Wednesday in Portland, Monks and Huber spoke in support of Obama in his campaign against Republican John McCain.
Maine GOP Chairman fired back at Monks. He said Monks has a long history of attacking Republicans including Margaret Chase Smith. He said that if the Obama campaign wants him, "they can have him."

No real republican or conservative would ever be for a Communist raised Islamofascist, who hates America. That only appeals to other mentally ill rats without the balls and integrity to admit they are and have been rats.
Bob Monks was the $$$ behind the Republican purge of conservatives in the Maine GOP in the 90’s. John Hathaway would be our US Senator (instead of Collins), and we’d have a large vocal and effective conservative presence in Augusta if it wasn’t this slime and his ilk. The character assassination and other tactics he and his paid people minions let loose of the true Republicans in this state will NOT be forgotten, but will be acknowledged as successful.
This could be expected from the state with two RINO senators (Snowe & Collins). They should just switch parties and have a “D” after their names. Those two were a couple reasons the Republicans, when in majority could not confirm SC judges. They fall into the category of Arlen Specter, Lincoln Chaffee, that other guy who switched who switched whose name i can’t remember and many others.
I seem to recall other times when Obama was in danger (from Hillary and now Palin) when soon after someone endorsed him... This seems like convenient timing, but maybe everything isn’t related like I think it is.

Hathaway had a fair message but if you've been (falsely) accused of improprieties with a teen babysitter you need to get that info out into the public early, not wait for it to come out on the eve of the election.

True, but it was still Monks $$$ that paid for “everything”. I know many Good conservatives who won’t have anything to do with the Maine Republican Party after that. Me included, and I was VERY involved, but won’t go into how and where other than to say I wish the Republicans in Maine would fight the Libs/Dems like they did us.
