Can’t they just drop in at a local mosque and pray with the local imam?

No. Muslim servicemen have as much a right to clergy to help them through their spiritual beliefs as, say, Presbyterian soldiers. If you're going to provide Evangelical chaplains, you have to provide Islamic ones.

Pluralism is a good thing. It's what allows us to agree to worship in our own way, and then get back to work defending this country.

Yeah, right,/sarc...just don’t pray a prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, because that might be diversive, or as one Chaplain O-6 expressed himself, his faith was so strong that he didn’t have to pray in the name of Christ...go figure.

Your opinion might be more credible if you knew how to spell "divisive."

Context depends. Chaplains are used in multiple settings. Sometimes they wear their pastor hat; other days they're counselors; other times, their job is to represent the lowest common denominator. It's not divisive for a Chaplain to pray in the name of Jesus at a specifically Christian service. It is divisive for him to do so at a change of command ceremony that every soldier must attend.

Why?

Does the military chain of command have higher authority than our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus?

If one isn’t praying to God the Father through faith in the Son, exactly how is God the Father going to hear that prayer and remain perfectly just and righteous?

That's a ridiculous question.

Gotta get the spell right? That's not prayer; that's spell-casting.

I retract #12; I misread your post.

I assumed you were talking about the wording. If that strawman were what you were asking, #12 would be right.

But to answer your question - Acts 12.

“...that the same divine message was given to Noah, Moses, Abraham, David, Jesus and Muhammad....”

Just out of curiosity, Raheem, how many people did Jesus rape and butcher in his life after he recieved the divine message?

Islam is a death cult.

My question remains not honestly answered.

How can any man approach the Father except through the Son?

Then let me provide the true answer, Jesus Christ is Lord of all Creation. There is no authority other than the Father above Him, and no man approaches the Father except through the Son.

Those who reject the Son, but seek to appear as though they have fellowship with the Father are seeking a counterfeit god.

Christians believe one cannot.

But that still does not mean that Christian preachers must always pray "in the name of Jesus."

Not necessarily. Do Jews seek a "counterfeit god"?

“I felt like that’s when I got my calling to be a chaplain,” he said.

In denial of the Son of God, yet claiming to have received a divine call. The fraud continues.

The King of the Jews has provided the best example.

Those who are of Jewish lineage, yet deny the Messiah, deny what God has provided for their salvation.
