I have to disagree. Michelle is effectively running for First Lady. “Spouse of the VP” is not so close to the throne.
Mr. and Gov. Palin were seeing their son off to war.
He was seeing his son off to war in Iraq.
The point was that she didn’t attend 9/11 activities allegedly because she wanted to be home with the kids for their first week of school. That would be fine had she been home.
But the hypocrisy of this position is illustrated by the fact that she spent the entire day before (while the kids were ostensibly still enjoying their first week of school) at a forum and not with the kids.
Doesn’t school start the day after labor day, anyway?
The point was not to question the whereabouts of the spouses of either VP candidate (nothing on Mrs. Biden, either) but to point out the Obamas’ lie.
Mr. Palin WAS probably at home taking care of the children and seeing his son off to Iraq.
