Graham, who was first elected to the Senate in 2002, is viewed favorably by 52% of the state’s voters. Thirty-eight percent (38%) have an unfavorable view. Before serving in the Senate, Graham had been a member of the House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002.

Conley is viewed favorably by 42%, and unfavorably by 32%. Twenty-five percent (25%) have no opinion of him. Although he is running for the Senate as a Democrat, he had previously served on the Horry County Republican Committee and supported Ron Paul for President. Conley won the Democratic nomination is a close primary election on June 16.

No matter how conservative Conley is, he will vote for Reid for Majority leader. He will allow Reid to assign committee positions. He will allow Reid to block judges and table legislation.

But screw the face, the nose must be removed!

I’d vote for Conley over Graham just like I’d vote for Zell Miller over Lincoln Chafee.

I may be going out on a limb by posting this, but here goes. Some may remember that in 1988, Joe Lieberman was elected to the Senate by unseating Uber-RINO Lowell Weicker. Some may remember that Uber-RINO Lincoln Chafee was first elected by defeating Bob Weygand, who was pro-life and liberal, but that partisan. Once in a great while, it’s preferable that the Republican lose.

IMHO, this is one of those situations. Lindsey Graham is known for his support of illegal immigration, and calls opponents of it bigots. Bob Conley is, on some issues, more conservative. Also, it’s unlikely that Graham will lose anyway, supporting Conley will do no harm but give Graham a severe warning about how he’s conducted himself in the Senate. If I were a South Carolina resident, I would cast a protest vote for Conley. I hope South Carolina Freepers do the same and pass the word to their friends and neighbors.

I’d prefer to be put in stocks in Cambridge, Ma with a “CONSERVATIVE” sign hung around my neck rather than vote for any democrat, any time, any where.

I predict that lite-in-the-loafers will return as your Senator again.

No way. We can’t let Reid control the Senate. Conley couldn’t win the Republican primary. Thats it, case closed.

He can try again in six years.

I don’t particularly like it either, but hey, I’m voting for McCain too.

I don’t care much about that- not my business. It’s his public record that appalls me.

Conley didn't run in the republican primary. But yeah he couldn't win against the money and machine of the RNC's incumbent protection plan.

The latest FEC filing for South Carolina has Conley having raised $17,105 and having less than 1,000 dollars cash-on-hand. Lindsey has raised over four million and has over 3.5 million cash-on-hand. The fact that this race is close says something very poorly of loser Lindsey.

I hope Conley can pull in the democrats and the anti-Graham conservatives and win this. Conley is the more conservative, and thus better, candidate in this race.

I’m voting for the conservative candidate Bob Conley. Mr. Shamnesty can go to hell.

Well, if he really is a conservative and will vote like one then I suppose ... on second thought, NO WAY. I remember the last DemoCRAP Senator from S.C.: "Too Much Consoomin' goin' on 'round heah" Fritz (Mondale) Hollings!

Too much is at stake to help the Democrats in anyway. Graham is an a-hole, but at least he is our a-hole.

I was a Ravenel supporter right up till we found out he was a coke head....nowhere but in SC, I guess.

Lindsey Graham has been a huge disappointment in the Senate, but the place to take him out was in the GOP primary, not in the general election. Bob Conley may be more conservative than Graham “on some issues,” but definitely not overall. If a SC conservative wants to cast a “protest vote” because he absolutely, positively can’t bring himself to vote for Graham, he should write-in a conservative Republican instead of voting for the RAT.

BTW, that poll showing Graham up by only 50%-41% used the same sample as the poll showing McCain up by only 51%-45% in SC. Now, any poll showing Obama with 45% in SC must have WAY oversampled black voters; there is no other explanation for such a risible result (SC hasn’t given a Democrat presidential candidate 45% since 1980). I would guess that the biased sample in the presidential poll undervalued McCain’s percentage by at least 5% (which would mean that McCain actually would have at least a 56%-40% lead in SC), and adjusting for such biased sample would similarly raise Graham’s percentage by 5%, resulting in a safe 55%-36% lead for Graham.

I hope President McCain puts Pandsey in some lowly executive job where he can't cause trouble.*

Then SC Gov. Mark Sanford can appoint a REAL conservative to take Grahamnesty's place and work along side Jim DeMint and bump the RAT ass-kicking into high gear.

* Like executive White House Men's Room Attendant. That would be "perfect" for Lindsey.
