There is a supreme court case that deals with exactly this. Yes, you can put your political yard sign, nobody can take the right of political speech away. Find the case show it to the neighborhood association.

I was thinking that political signs had special protection. We have “bandit sign” ordinances in most of the burbs around here, but they don’t touch the political signs.
Consequently, the best time to put up your bandit sign is when it’s a political season.
Oh, and if you’re wondering how to get around the “protection” of political signs? Put the opponent’s sign up on either side of the existing one. You don’t touch the one that’s there, but no one can see it.

Superglue and bumper stickers on others cars make a nice way of display. Make sure you use gloves so the superglue doesn’t stick to your fingers.

Get yourself a few dozen acres and plant all the signs you want! You don't have to move to the country to avoid HOA's -- I live in a city and my home and neighborhood is NOT subject to any HOA. There are many neighborhoods here that are HOA, but I was careful to buy a house not subject to an HOA, as I'm not interested in being ruled by them.

If you bought into an HOA, then no, you don’t live in America anymore.

Why anyone would willingly surrender their freedom to a power mad, ninny-picking politburo is beyond me.
And some actually pay to have their property controlled by these tin horn wannabe dictator.
Give me freedom, with all the inherent pitfalls, any day.
I would rather live in a dumpster than submit to a HOA.

Dear Driftdiver,
I'm so glad that you stepped up and changed the course of the community. An HOA is like any other organization or group of people; the only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. Thank you for your willingness to serve!
Sorry to hear that your developer is being such a jerk. Pre-transition can be a real nightmare. Since you have board experience, you may want to consider serving once the community is turned over to resident control. Even 1 year of the right leadership, done professionally and above board, can set the tone for the community for years to come. When the board starts out sloppy, it only devolves from there.
God bless!!

We were one of the first families to move in, and as others moved in we found that rather successful people from a variety of national and ethnic backgrounds had different ideas about what constitutes acceptable behavior and yard maintenance.Diversity is GOOD!®

Yeesh, are you saying you actually had to go to type out all those lines of code just to make that post pretty? Oh NO!!!
I COPIED the graphic off of a web page somewhere long ago!
Any CHANGES I want to make is then easy to do.

he shoulda done what I do. My sign is very well-smeared with poison ivy. It got trashed the other night. I’m watchin’ the neighbors and their kids for signs of Calamine Lotion!

You’re welcome! Hope it helps.

No friendly chats allowed. They are only following the “laws”. In many cases its a few bored people attempting to make everyone else follow their version of what looks good.
Lawsuits and threats of lawsuits are commom from both sides.
