Homeowners' associations usually have a few hundred thousand in the kitty and have the power to levy assessments to pay any legal fees the association treasury can't handle. And in most jurisdictions, the courts decide in favor of the HOA because you signed documents agreeing to their rules. So your legal fees are wasted. They can take your house away from you. They have you outgunned, cowboy.
