The Unspoken Endorsement of Bill Clinton
9/28/08 | Jack

Last month Barrack Obama sat down for a meeting with former President Bill Clinton at Clinton's office in Harlem.

The obvious expectation from the meeting was for Obama to garner additional support from the Clinton machine in the wake of John McCain selecting Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.

Prior to Sarah Palin, Barrack Obama led in most of the polls and had a five point bounce from the Democratic convention.

Although Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama shook hands and posed for the camera, it should be clear to anyone at this point that Barrack's agenda for the meeting has failed, and failed miserably.

Since the meeting took place former President Bill Clinton has went out of his way on multiple occasions to speak well of Senator McCain. He has spoke his praises on almost all of the major networks. He has spoken well of Sarah Palin and of her family.

We should remember that during the Democratic primaries Barrack Obama assaulted Senator Hillary Clinton in almost every way imaginable. He played the race card on her and on Bill.

There are many photo's across the internet from that time frame that clearly show Barrack Obama looking with contempt at Senator Clinton. It was no secret then, nor should it be now that Senator Obama dislikes Senator Clinton.

Barrack Obama's fatal mistake was in underestimating the amount of support the Clinton machine has. Barrack Obama decided to play poker with the Clinton machine, thinking he should go all in with two pairs not knowing that Bill and Hillary were holding a royal flush.

Former President Clinton may not endorse Senator McCain publicly in specific language, nor should you expect to see a McCain/Palin button on his lapel. Frankly it's not necessary because we all now see clearly each and every time that former President Clinton speaks he lauds Senator McCain.

Today's speech by Senator McCain at the Global Clinton initiative was as public of an endorsement from Bill that we will see. Senator McCain wasn't just speaking to his republican base. He wasn't just speaking to the crowd in attendance. He was speaking to 18 million disenfranchised Clinton supporters that have recognized that Senator Obama is not a leader.

The dreaded 3:00 a.m. phone call came yesterday for Barrack Obama and he asked the nation to call back if we really needed him.

The scary thing is that usually Bill Clinton’s endorsement is the kiss of death. Let’s just hope he doesn’t start openly campagining for John McCain.

I, for one, won't be making that call!

Bill Clinton is rapidly becoming one of our greatest allies. Who knew?

I think, that in addition to the hatred that the Obamanaughts have directed towards the Clintons (President Clinton in particular) makes him want to twist the knife.

He’s paid his dues, and the DNC cannot rebuke the most popular Democratic President in the last 40(!) years to the curb. Hillary has to be more careful, she wants to run again — even if not for president, she has a Senate seat she needs to guard for the next primary, lest she become a Democrat target like Lieberman was.

Also, this is where the Maverick status of John McCain comes back to help him. I think that many Democrats genuinely like him (the Reid/Obama/Pelosi wing excluded). So it’s not hard for Bill Clinton to genuinely praise the man.

I know lots of Hillary supporters, they are doing everything they can to throw support towards the McCain/Palin ticket ... and they are learning a little bit about their party that Republicans have known for a long time. These may be future Republicans in the making.

I couldn’t believe I heard him say that. How Presidential, leave me alone, I’m raising money. If you really need me and I can help give me a call. This pretender is scary, but the scare will be over on 4 Nov.

Actually, it's Bill and Hillary that have "two pairs" between them -- and brass ones to boot. And that was the Empty Suit's miscalculation.

Clinton was also nice to McCain this morning, saying he probably did the right thing focusing on this financial dilemma. He pointed out that McCain isn't avoiding debates, reminding viewers that McCain had previously asked for multiple debate spread around the country.

a few quotes:

"We know he didn't do it because he's afraid because Sen. McCain wanted more debates," Clinton said, adding that he was "encouraged" by the joint statement from McCain and Sen. Barack Obama. "You can put it off a few days the problem is it's hard to reschedule those things," Clinton said, "I presume he did that in good faith since I know he wanted -- I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country and so I don't think we ought to overly parse that."

The former president thought Bush's address Wednesday night on the economic crisis had a "positive reaction". "I thought it was the clearest statement of why we're in the fix we're in, at least what the nature of it is and why some national action is needed," Clinton said.

I can hear Bubba saying ,,, “ you get your delegates to back Hillary for Potus and you take the VP spot and we can work together . In 8yrs you’ll be 52 and have much more experience , Hillary will be 78 older than McCain now . So you think about that if you want Bubba to bail you out “.

Well, the Clintons are thinking ahead to 2012. They want to see Obama crash and burn, so that Hillary can try again in 2012. You figure if Obama wins the election, he runs for re-election in 2012, and freezes Hillary out until 2016.

The Clintons failed this year, but they are chess playing politicians, and are setting themselves up for 2012.

What an excellent concept! Does anyone have a connection with the smart boys who are organizing fast commercials for McCain? Surely on this collection of 100,000 conservatives, there is someone who knows how to advance this idea to the McCain campaign.

Hahaha, Clinton said THAT? Good grief! Well, Obama came down hard on him too — didn’t Clinton say something ‘racist’ and they made a big hullabaloo about it? He’s not forgotten that, nor that they slimed his wife a goodly slime.

And he was a very popular president, and Hilary is popular among her own. The libs are eating their own/ amazing to watch.

If what you say is true, why is McCain tanking in the polls?

Look at the poll internals & the battleground state polls. They are heavily oversampling both Democrats and often AA in most of these polls.

How else do you see massive shifts of women voters, and undecideds to McCain in these internals — and yet his numbers go down?

And with only 58% of Hillary supporters willing to vote for Obama, something smells.

I hope the internals are correct, and McCain is gaining. I want to win this because I loathe Obama and everything he represents.
